Evening Update: Kakariko

As everyone kept walking, the Sun began to lower itself in the sky. “Five in the afternoon,” Kaito observed. “Not bad timing!” Though, as the Eastern group exited the forest, they would notice a pile of rubble on the cliff overlooking the village. Looking at the map, this was where the Ta’Loh Naeg Shrine used to be. What could have possibly destroyed it?

“Woah...get a load of that!” Kaito pointed out beyond the village, where they could see icy peaks, a volcano...and a castle surrounded by a cage of brilliant light. “The Hell is that?” He observed it for a moment, before turning to the rest of the group. He began down the hill towards the village, expecting the others to follow.

---

Those in the Northwest group were able to find the road into Kakariko easily, right between a split in a mountain. Just a short walk through, and they would find themselves at the city gates.

“We’re here!” Linkle shouted to the rest of the group. “Welcome to Kakariko village!”

Fred looked curiously at the village. “That’s a lot of woodwork. Why cut down trees when you can use stone? Sturdier and you don’t need to use any trees. Give me practical and sturdy any day of the week.”

“Uh, yeah, sure!” Linkle gave him a nervous smile before turning to the others. “So we going to stand here all day or are we going for some exploring?”

---

After the defeat of the Yiga Clan ninja, the trip up the road was relatively peaceful. Keeping the sickle by his side, Dell remained quiet for the rest of the journey. It seemed his run-in with Malice had quieted him some...or perhaps something else was on his mind? As they reached the gateway into town, he led them all inside with nary a word.

Perhaps to the Japanese members of their group, Kakariko Village felt right at home. It had the feel of an old farming village, what with chickens running around and old farmers working in their own fields. There was an earthy smell to the place, and immediately one felt closed off from the world the second they arrived. How could they not, considering the geography of the place: this little village was surrounded by mountains and cliffs, keeping the rest of Hyrule hidden from view, unless one were to climb up for a vantage point.

Despite the multiple shops and houses around, their destination was obvious: a house above a lake, elevated above all others and guarded by two men.

The guards, as well as everyone in this place, wore similar clothing to Dell, and eyed the group with bewilderment and wonder. Clearly this was not something they saw every day…

As all three groups arrived in front of the stairway, Dell looked around. “This everyone? You guys didn’t have any trouble getting here, yeah?”

“Not at all!” Kaito replied proudly. “We had a run-in with some goblins, but I showed ‘em who’s boss! ...with the help of everyone else, of course.” He extended his hand. "Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars!”

“...Dell Honne,” the android replied, taking Kaito’s hand rather gingerly. His focus was immediately drawn to a particular member of their group. “...who are you?” He asked Linkle.

“I’m Linkle, of course,” She responded without missing a beat grabbing his hand for a shake. “Where I’m from I’m a hero of legend, so like I told the other guys you’re really lucky that I’m here!”

With one hand occupied by a boisterous astronaut, and the other by an energetic heroine, Dell had an utterly perplexed look on his face. “The Hell...but-”

“Um...e-excuse me.”

Before them all, in front of the steps, was a young woman. She looked rather similar to Dell, with white hair and red eyes, which was odd considering he wasn’t even from Hyrule in the first place.

Dell recognized her, and took his hands from the other two. “Evening, Paya. What’s up?”

“U-um…” She looked down, fiddling with her hands, unable to handle the gaze of such a large group. “Grandmother would l-like to speak with you…”

“Yeah, I know, we’re all ready to-”

“N-n-no. Just...just you, Dell.”

Dell blinked. “...oh.” Turning to the group, he shrugged his shoulders. “Guess I’ll head in, then…? You guys just wait out here. It shouldn’t take too long.” With that, the android walked up the steps into the house. Paya stepped out of the way, then faced the group again, unsure of what to do.

“...anyone up for a game of I Spy?”

---

“Are you fucking kidding me right now?!”

Dell glared at the old woman sitting before him, hands balled into fists. She did not just say that...all that work, and she was just gonna…

761px-Impa.jpg

“I will not meet them tonight,” Impa replied, looking at Dell from under the brim of her hat. Though over 100 years old, Impa still held an air of authority to her that remained unmatched by anyone in the village, even Dell. “Allow them to rest, and I shall talk to them in the morning.”

“Oh, and let them do what, huh? Go shopping? Sing camping songs by the fire?”

“If that is what they would like to do, then yes.”

For a moment, Dell was speechless. “Unbelievable.” He started pacing, shaking his head with his hands on his hips. “Un-fucking-believable. Do you even realize what we’re up against? This guy is ten times worse than Calamity Ganon!”

“Dell…”

"We only have a week until the next Blood Moon…”

“Dell.”

"Margreet is off doing God knows what because of some dream she had…”

“Dell!”

"And you’re telling me you want to let everyone play tourist for the night?!”

“Dell! Enough!” Impa’s voice could cut through steel, and it certainly cut through Dell. He stopped in his tracks, eyes on the village elder. “I am fully aware what we are up against. That is why I want everyone to have the opportunity to bond and enjoy an evening together. Ganon will not be defeated though brute force alone. You know this as well as I do.”

“But-”

“And you know you can’t be displaying such temperamental outbursts. You, of all people, should know better.”

He sighed. As much as he hated to admit it, Impa was right. “So...what? What do we do?”

“We give them tonight. Allow them to enjoy themselves, feel at home here. Get to know them, too. You could use this opportunity to make friends, help them understand this world better...and in the morning, when everyone is rested. I will talk to them. If I were to talk to them now, tell them of their situation...it would make it very hard for any camaraderie.”

“Yeah, yeah. I get it.” He turned to leave, but stopped at the door. “And tomorrow...we’re gonna...y’know…?”

Impa paused a while, then nodded. “Yes. We will.”

With that clarified, Dell headed outside. Impa sighed as the door closed, and looked to a photograph by her side. “Oh, Hylia...may you give us all strength for what is to come. I get the feeling we can use as much as we can get.”

---

Outside, Kaito was taking on the role of entertainer. “I Spy, with my little eye...something...red!”

“Um...is it the fire?” Paya guessed.

“Nope!”

“The sunset, perhaps.” One of the guards suggested.

“Nuh-uh.”

“I know! One of my dear Cuccos!”

“Dude, you’ve answered Cuccos like four times already. And that’s never been the right answer!” Kaito shook his head. “Does no one know?!”

“The offering apples?” Dell said, walking down the stairs to the rest of the group.

“Yeah! You got it, Dell! Way to go!” Kaito then got rather serious. “So, what’d she say? Do we go in now, or…”

“Actually...Impa sends her regards, but she would rather have her bug meeting with you all in the morning, It’s been a long day, and she wants you all to be able to eat and sleep. She even went out of her way to arrange lodging for everyone throughout the village. You’ll find your sleeping arrangements in the Sheikah Slate. That's...what we were talking about in there.”

Actually, Dell randomly selected living quarted for everyone, but he wouldn't say that out loud. Looking at your map, you would find a stamp placed on one of ten houses:

Curious Quiver (arrow shop) - Futaba, Nia, Linkle, Wakaba
High Spirits Produce - Jin, Shallot, Akuma, Peter (MCU)

Shuteye Inn - Akane, Rex, Thor, Ken, Reimu, Kaito

Cado’s House - Superboy, Guy, Teruteru

Impa’s House - Darius, Selesia, Bitch Pudding, Nadeshiko

Enchanted (clothing store) - Ellie, Fred, Diana

Lasli’s House - Lyndis, The Drifter, Yuuki

Mellie’s House - Azel, Enu, Kokkoro

Dorian’s House - Agent 47, Mantis, Peter (TASM), Shovel Knight

Steen’s House - Silque, Grievous, Asher

“If you wanna trade rooms with someone, ask 'em. And you don’t have to go there just yet. The shops stay open until nine tonight, so that gives you all about three hours to shop. If you’ve collected anything on your trip here-monster parts, food, precious stones-you can cook 'em, or sell them for Rupees, Hyrule’s currency.”
Dell held one up to show what it looked like.

BotW_Green_Rupee_Icon.png

"Things are pretty cheap here, but if you need some extra cash, I can spot you. Except if you're wanting to buy clothes. I'm not made of money.”

Dell pointed to the nearby fireplace and cooking pot. “You can use those to bake food and cook meals, respectively. Just choose the ingredients you want, toss them in, and boom. You’ve got food. Of course, if you want to make food your own way, I understand, and you can. But this way is a lot easier. There’s storage of ingredients Impa has that you can use. Just ask what you want, and we can get it for you.”

“But how the heck do we know what to get?” Kaito asked.

“Easy. Look through your Sheikah Slate and find the Hyrule Compendium. It lists everything you could ever want to know-weapons, monsters, wildlife, foodstuffs, and so on. Find whatever food you want on there, and ask for it-chances are we have it.”

Dell scratched the back of his head. “Uh...that’s it. If you need me, I’ll be hanging out on that patio over by the cooking pot. Oh...have fun.” And with that, Dell was off. Looks like you have the evening all to yourselves.

The Curious Quiver: An arrow shop that specializes in Fire Arrows. If you didn’t pick Fire Arrows at the start, you could buy a limited supply here.
Enchanted: A clothing shop. The clothes here are rather pricey, but still pretty enough to look at even if you can’t afford them. A good place for gossip.

High Spirits Produce: A nice little shop where you can sell items you have, as well as purchase a few goods. Their best product is the Swift Carrot.

Olkin’s Pumpkin Patch: A little place where you can purchase a Fortified Pumpkin from Olkin. For some reason not sold in the produce shop.

Shuteye Inn: A small inn for travelers passing through. There may be a few merchants you can meet.

Impa’s House: Home of the Village Elder and her granddaughter. You can visit with them before the meeting tomorrow. One of the guards, Dorian, is in charge of the ingredient storage, so talk to him if you need anything.

Goddess Statue: Right beside Impa’s house is a statue of Hyrule’s main Goddess, Hylia. Paya is tasked with cleaning it tonight, if you’d like to visit with her.

Despite the annoyance of having to wait the night before they could speak to whoever the elder was, Jin had to admit that he was thankful to finally be in this village. The quiet, comforting scenery of a humble yet protective village, hidden away in the mountains... if he was still a student of poetry, perhaps he would see fit to use Kakariko Village as inspiration. It was an idyllic enivornment, one that, if he could return one day, would be the perfect place to settle with the woman he hoped to find once more.

Accepting his assignment without question, barely even noting it with any real interest, Jin weighed his options - that flower that they had investigated required rupees, and given he had collected parts the guts of one of those goblins along with strange shiny rocks from the cave, perhaps he could provide for uncovering what it hid. However, something caught his eye as he began to move to one of the shops. The statue of a local diety and the girl who attended it, the granddaughter of the village elder to his understanding.

They had been brought here for some strange reason, and his questions regarding it lingered in his mind. Removing his straw hat for the moment as he approached, the ronin hoped the girl could shed some light on the subject. He waited silently for her to notice his presence, not wishing to disturb her from her duties, before finally bowing polite and speaking, "You are Paya-san, the elder's granddaughter, yes? I am Jin, and I wished to know if you knew exactly why we were brought here."

Shallot looked towards Akuma, who looked back at him disgustingly. 'I get put with this ass hat? Oh well...' Shallot thought. He decided to simply take a look around the village.

Thor quietly followed the group, deciding to question the others once they reached their destination.

After reaching the village, he looked around his surroundings, there were more people now.

"Hello, perhaps one of you could help me," he grinned, trying to be warm and friendly.

"My name is Thor, son of Odin. I have seemed to end up here and I need to get to my home Asgard." he rubbed the back of his neck, hoping the people were friendly, they hadn't really noticed him beforehand.

Though the Southern group had only just met Teruteru, they might have found it odd that he had been pensive ever since the ninja attack. Not even the arrival of the large attractive hunk of meat that was Thor had gathered much comment from the little chef during his reverie. This whole situation was really confusing and Teruteru still didn't really understand why all these people were

"... Hm?" Teruteru blinked and looked up at Akane.

"... Ah, Akane," he said, a warm smile appearing on his face. "Of all the people I know to be here, I am very lucky that it is you. In fact, that you're here is giving me a warm feeling in my stomach..." Teruteru then clapped his hands together. His smile widened into a grin.

"I have promised a feast for our comrades! You should join us, for I know you must be hungry." Teruteru looked around and spotted some members of his group from before. "Peter! Dell! Silque! ... You!" He pointed at Thor. "Join me at the fire!"

Asher was used to brushes with death, so the river incident was a minor one all things considered. He had felt a bit of a rush as these things often did to him, so it may have come off odd to the river group that he had been grinning ever since almost drowning. He had thanked Guy for the save on the way to the village, though once they arrived, Asher felt his mood grow sour. He didn't understand this group's relation to one another, nor did he understand how he got here. He wanted to leave but had no idea where to start.

Asher needed information, first and foremost.

"If only Beskha were here," he muttered to himself, heading to Impa's House. He stopped before the guards. "Hey there, fellas. Can I see your elder?"

@Yun Lee

The Goddess statue is small, only about four feet tall, and rests on a small rock surrounded by a pond. A little wooden bridge connects it to the rest of the village.

"Eep!" Paya, her back turned to Jin, jumped as he spoke to her. Turning to him, she nodded. "Y-Yes...I am Impa's granddaughter. And I do know a little, but, um...Grandmother doesn't want me discussing things tonight. E-Especially since I don't know everything going on."

@Hida Tomonatsu

"Hey, Thor! Nice to meet ya!" Kaito nodded at the Asgardian's introduction. "Yeah, we're all kind of stuck here, and we all need to get back, too! I've got folks waiting for me back home..." He looked around, noticing that someone he'd been looking for wasn't here. He wasn't sure whether to be relieved or worried. "But if we gotta wait till morning, we gotta wait. I'm gettin' some grub from Impa's House, anyone want in?"

@Space_Candy @Lucky @Atomic Knight

"I told you, Teru, I can't eat. Literally." But Dell relented nonetheless, figuring sitting by the fire would be better than brooding by himself. "I'll watch you cook, though. Should be somethin'."

@Atomic Knight @Takumi @Lucky @Space_Candy

"You may," one of the guards said with a nod, turning to Kaito. "After I let him in, I'll take you to the storage."

Inside, Asher would find a rather large room with pillows, no doubt where village meetings took place. There was a small book on the side of the door, a staircase leading upstairs, a strange orange orb behind red rope, and an odd painting on the wall. But taking center, on a pile of pillows, was a little old woman in a large hat.

"Good evening," Impa greeted. "Are you one of the four lodging in my home tonight, or did you want to visit me of your own accord?"

@Atomic Knight

"Wood is easier to shape and is less heavy than stone. But don't underestimate it, it can be turned into very sturdy building material." 47 said calmly to Fred as the group arrived at the village.

While 47 wasn't Japanese himself, he did notice there were some similarities with the style the buildings were made in and older Japanese buildings. Though some parts a bit exaggerated. He and Grievous went towards the house above the small lake. "We had no troubles coming here." 47 said calmly.
While Dell talked with the elder, both Grievous and 47 went their separate ways from the group inside the house. But staying somewhat nearby. For Grievous it was the hardest at this point. He was supposed to be a general, training or fighting. Instead, he was in a village. It annoyed him in a way.
Agent 47, on the other hand, was cooping a lot better than Grievous. He was patient and had the time to wait. But every moment he wasn't able to contribute to his profession was lost time. After a moment, he notices the Asgardian. Reminding him somewhat of the woman that was with his group, Diana. Though it was unfortunate it wasn't the same Diana he knew. In a way, he could use some backup from his handler. After a moment, he decided to walk towards the group. "Greetings, Thor. You may call me Tobias Rieper. We are all looking to go home." he said to the Asgardian with his usual tone.

“Noooooo!!!” The ninja fell to the ground, defeated. “You...my Master will have his revenge on all of you! We all will!” She vanished right then and there, leaving behind her sickle, some strange jewels and a banana bunch.

Not noticing Thor, Dell walked to the weapon and picked it up by the handle. Careful not to touch the blade in any way, he examined it and nodded, as if confirming something to himself. "Thought so...talk about a close one."

Darius widened his narrowed eyes ever so slightly at the sudden movement, remaining unflinching. Admiring her enthusiasm and loyalty to her nation, he replied, "An excellent example of the soldier's spirit. I have high expectations of you, so don't disappoint me."

What could have possibly destroyed it?

latest

“Woah...get a load of that!” Kaito pointed out beyond the village, where they could see icy peaks, a volcano...and a castle surrounded by a cage of brilliant light. “The Hell is that?” He observed it for a moment, before turning to the rest of the group. He began down the hill towards the village, expecting the others to follow.

Those in the Northwest group were able to find the road into Kakariko easily, right between a split in a mountain. Just a short walk through, and they would find themselves at the city gates.

"I told you, Teru, I can't eat. Literally." But Dell relented nonetheless, figuring sitting by the fire would be better than brooding by himself. "I'll watch you cook, though. Should be somethin'."

@Atomic Knight @Takumi @Lucky @Space_Candy

@Atomic Knight

Even though it wasn't Mila, Celica made her way to the Goddess Shrine. She thought it would be nice to get some familiarity.

@Hida Tomonatsu

Meanwhile, Selesia would make her way to Impa’s House. She looked around and went to the Small Painting

"I see..." The ronin sighed with a let-down expression, shoulder slacking as he did so. He knew it best not to press the matter if the elder who was providing them a safe place did not wish it discussed just yet. However, his curiosity and need to know their purpose was scratching at the back of his mind constantly; irritating him, driving him to know more about the situation and regain control of it. It was quite annoying, and at the moment, he could use anything to distract himself from it...

His eyes wandered past Paya to take in the sight of the statue once more; a simple effigy, but cute in its design. Yet despite Paya's best efforts, it seemed a tad unclean still... "Has your grandmother thought to build a small protective shrine around the statue?" He questioned suddenly, eyes moving back to the young girl to take in her reaction, "To ward off the elements, of course. It would make your task simpler, and given the fickle nature of the kami regarding their shrines, it seems likely to please your goddess if you guard her effigy with such a creation."

@Yun Lee

"A shrine...? M-Maybe...though it might be hard to build, on this tiny little rock..." As Celica approached, Paya bowed. "Good evening, miss..."

The painting featured strange machines scattered all over a green field. Patches of the ground had been scorched. It almost felt like some sort of battlefield, looking at it.

"Wood is easier to shape and is less heavy than stone. But don't underestimate it, it can be turned into very sturdy building material." 47 said calmly to Fred as the group arrived at the village.

@Space_Candy @Lucky @Atomic Knight

Fred looked over to the houses one more time before responding to 47. " Well I guess I have to agree but give me a good chiseled house any day of the week."

What could have possibly destroyed it?

latest

Fred snapped his fingers together trying to remember Wonder Woman's name. "Diana, right? Wanna come and check it out?" But then he heard some talk about...food.

"You a good cook?" Fred asked walking up to Teruteru. "Mind if another joins the group?"

Better make that two as Linkle jumped into the fray. "Food? Oh man I'm starving! I got to get something good in me!"

Linkle meanwhile was just pacing back and forth. "Oh all this hanging around"

Thor smiled as the two greeted him, he looked to Kaito.

"My home is in serious danger, last I remember I was on a ship on my way there," he furrowed his brows thinking of Valkrie and Bruce.

"Maybe you've seen my friends, possibly my brother?" He questioned hope in his voice.

"A little guy in a suit jacket? has a temper? Or a pretty young lady who drinks too much? Or my brother, he had long black hair, looks displeased?"

Akane was already drooling and her stomach growled at the mention of food. "I'd take the warm feeling of a meal in my stomach."

She gathered around the fire with Teruteru. "I found a couple things on our way here that you might be able to cook. It's not much, but I found fish at this waterfall, and the tail of one of these lizards we fought. Think you could work with that?"
Fred looked over to the houses one more time before responding to 47. " Well I guess I have to agree but give me a good chiseled house any day of the week."

Looking at clothes? It wasn't something Fred ever was a real fan of. You put them on to be not be naked and that was it. But if that was his designation then he wouldn't argue. "I guess I'll be heading to that shop. If anyone needs me..." If for nothing else but to check where they were going to sleep. "Uh..." Fred snapped his fingers together trying to remember Wonder Woman's name. "Diana, right? Wanna come and check it out?" But then he heard some talk about...food.

"With a measure of confidence and a firm mind, anything is possible, Paya-san. A tall and narrow housing would would work well," Jin countered before cocking a brow as Paya bowed suddenly. However, after a moment, he understood he was referring to another who had approached and turned to face Celica, taking on a neutral expression as he bowed slightly as an equal to the woman, "Another wanderer, but from another group? Pleased to make your acquaintanceship, I am Jin."

Kokkoro snags a handful of Nadeshiko's Fire Arrows and begins to launch them in the zones of the underwater bushes, hoping to create enough of a short-term blaze to chase the little fishes away.

"Thank you for your assistance, Lady Nadeshiko."

Next, she uses her own Shock Arrows to electrocute the areas of the underwater bushes the moment she saw an Octorok emerge from them, while they still remained in the water and before they could even fully emerge into the surface.

Wrapped in his own mind, he ignored the group. Still stewing, he viewed the battle between the group and the octoshot. Causally walking toward it. Starring at it for a small time, Prime punched it. Frowning as he walked awat

Prime was able to easily kill the creature closest to them, before Kokkoro launched her attack at the other.

BZZZT!

The creature jolted as the electricity hit it, then rolled on its backs and vanished in a puff of black smog. In the place of the two creatures remained a tentacle, an eyeball, and two pink round organs that looked like balloons.

With the monsters gone, it would be much easier to get to the other side of the river. According to the map, all they would need to do was head uphill on this steep slope towards a road that would take them to the village. Not too hard-unless you didn't have much cardio, that is.

Once they got to land, as the group approached the village, they found themselves walking through a very small, secluded forest. They would notice some blue flowers growing nearby, as well as see small pink orbs fluttering about. Most eye-catching of all, though, was a large flower surrounded by gold coins, which also served as small steps to look into its center, which was a small pool of water.

"As long as you know how to prepare it, octopus meat is good meat. Cooking a good meal is one of my responsibilities, I only wish we had more octopus.

Once again, I shall share, since we all worked together and I couldn't have done it without you. I have need for the tentacle to cook a meal for us in time. How about you all?"

"I can help prepare the octopus if you'd like, Kokkoro. I used to do a lot of cooking for my friends back in the day; octopus should be no sweat! Though... hopefully I'll be able to dry my clothes somewhere soon as well," Guy offered, thinking back on his more adventurous days. Looking back, perhaps it wasn't so hard to be forced to be responsible for cooking most meals when your friends were either a gold-digging little girl, an old(ish) man, and a guy who was, at least at first, a bit on the childish side. Guy had to resist the urge to sigh nostalgically. Despite all the pleasant personalities here, it felt like it didn't truly feel complete without someone around to remind him of Luke.

... The punchy guy might have potential, but he didn't seem to say much.

"In the meantime, let's not dawdle around," he continued, going back to idly paddling the raft toward land so they could proceed onward now.

Yuuki shrugs his shoulders, implying that he didn't understand what the whisper spoke.

After thinking for a while, and looking about, he seemed to make an inference. Yuuki gestured to Peter that he believes that the puddle desired money, evidenced by a gesture of pointing to the water, then rubbing a thumb and the closest finger to it together.

Emptying his pockets, he revealed that he carried no money with him. He shrugs his shoulders and shakes his head.

"That's good to hear, Master Guy. Remembering the past, I see? If only I was old enough to have a good, adventuring past to remember. Maybe in a few years I will, but now, not so."

"Here we go..." Dell sighed, taking a few steps back.

"...by taking yours!!"

"Ah, am I so transparent?" Guy said to Kokkoro, letting out a soft chuckle, "Yes, I suppose you could say I was... remembering. Days like these fly by faster than you expect, fleeting like stars. Of course, it might not seem that way now, but... When you look back on the past, it can sometimes be amazing to realize how much you've been through. Of course, enough about that!" He exclaimed, deciding not to linger on too much on that topic.

"As for your cooking, I'm sure it's quite delicious, Kokkoro! I'd be more than happy to teach you some of what I know! Have you ever heard of sushi? With this octopus on us, I'm sure we'll be able to make more than enough for our little party here!"

Upon climbing the slope and meeting another band of people in the distance, Guy wasted no time in attempting to get their attention, walking over and waving his arm at them. "Yo! I don't suppose you merry lot wouldn't happen to be headed toward the nearby village, would you? It seems like we've stumbled about and are trying to gather our bearings back, and you guys look a little... out of place yourselves, just like us."

Stuttering as she piped up to speak again, only to have the Drifter pass out on her, Nia pouted and crossed her arms.

"Nia! Why'd ya run off like that?" Rex inquired, having caught up in the time the Drifter was lost in thought. "One of us is bleedin' out their mouth is why," Nia answered very matter-of-factly, promptly shushing Rex as the Drifter again stirred.

"Take it easy there pal, no need ta strain yourself," Nia crooned, "Yer headed to Kakariko too, yeah? I'm sure there's someone who can help ya there," Nia's ears stood at attention at the sound of nearing voices and spun around to locate them, with her eyes following suit and spying the group from the west. "Hey!" Linkle waved to the other group. "So glad you could make it!"

Fred meanwhile gave the new group a look over. Most of them wore strange clothing too and looked like nothing he'd ever seen before, but at least they were in this boat together.

"The name's Linkle!" She responded with a friendly smile. "It's a pleasure to me you too!" She looked around with a confident look on her face. "With this many people around I don't think we'll have an problems moving forward! Unless bad stuff happens, but pretty sure that's not going to be a thing!"
The Drifter didn't give any form of acknowledgement to Nia, tilting his head upwards and briefly rubbing something out of his eyes. This wasn't the village, so it was no place to stop; therefor, the Drifter grabbed the broadsword from the ground and slung it about his back, moving onward past Nia without a word.

After a few steps, however, the Drifter abruptly stopped in place. It looked like he was about to have another coughing fit, but he instead turned his head back around to look at Nia. He gave her a nod. Some form of acknowledgement was better than none, but even the stranger's blackened eyes echoed an understanding of Nia's words. It was an effort to communicate, but it'd take much more out of the girl to get the weary traveler to open up. After that brief connection between them was shared, the Drifter looked forward and continued on his trek.

Of course, he had to stop again, once he saw the sunlight illuminating a particular diminutive warrior in bright-blue armor.

"There you are!" Shovel Knight exclaimed, rushing past his own group to meet the Drifter at the other end. The Drifter didn't react, letting the small knight approach him and look over him. "I was worried you'd. . .well, at least we've both ended up in the same predicament now, huh? No grievances to be had. We're allies now!" Shovel Knight remarked.

f0647852b4077352da1d46a0e7dfa77e.png

The Drifter looked down at him mumbled a faint tone of acknowledgement. Though, really, it was a cathartic thought.

There really wasn't any reason for these two to be allies at all. Shovel Knight still had brief visions of the Drifter's hard-light sword sailing towards him with murderous intent, and as far the Drifter knew, the knight was going to sell that precious module to some goober for a few paltry gold coins - a module that is essential to ending his plight. But, evidently, the Drifter felt unknowingly calm in the knight's presence, knowing he'll be more than capable to speak for him. He seems much more lively than most people the Drifter has come across, good or bad.

93d62bac95f75efa51286ee675fe2dc7.png

"You still have that cough, don't you?" Shovel Knight asked, to which the Drifter nodded. "Hm. . .we'll see if there's anything at the village to help. It should be an easy hike there. We will figure out our plan of action on the morning. Does that sound good?"

After a few seconds, the Drifter nodded in agreement.

"Great! I. . .er, I don't believe we've actually introduced each other. I'm Shovel Knight! And, you are. . ."

"Just a drifter."

". . .Hm. Then, I'll call you Drifter!"

And so it begins.

What could have possibly destroyed it?

latest

---

800px-BotW_Kakariko_Village.png

“Um...e-excuse me.”

latest

@Yun Lee @Enchanted (Clothing Store)

Enu had been quietly following the rest of the group after the fight with the weird octopus like creatures. It seemed that some of their group-mates were even considering cooking them, which reminded him that he hadn't eaten for quite some time. His stomach rumbled a bit, although he tried to hide it the best he could.

Making the trek to their destination, he listened carefully to Dell as he gave everyone who had gathered here ( which was... Quite alot, actually, now that he realized there had been two other groups other than the ones he had eventually joined up with) a quick rundown of what there was to do around Kakariko village.

His stomach rumbled quietly again as he glanced at the cooking pot. He didn't have any money to buy any food, and he was too sheepish to ask Dell for help, so instead... He decided to check out the local clothing store on his map. Not to look over the wares, but instead... To catch some gossip about good fishing spots nearby. Catching and cooking fish was the one thing he was rather familiar with, after all...

Guy never realized just how many people were around this town. Just like the people whom he'd met over the hill, let alone the first people he'd ever met to begin with, one could easily assume that all of them were... out of place, whether judging by their mannerisms, their clothes, or just the way they carried themselves. More and more, he began wondering just how far away he was from Kimlasca or any other recognizable land. Surely not so far if he could recognize slimes and hostile octopus going after him, but still, something didn't seem right.

Well, there wasn't enough time in the world to sit around pondering and trying to piece it together. If Luke were here, he'd probably say something that would kick Guy into gear (akin to a bratty child becoming anxious, but all the same), so the young man opted to huddle toward the cooking pot where many others, including his new prospective roommate, a... distinctive little chef-looking man named "Teruteru," were gathered. May as well get to know everyone. What could be the harm in it?

"A guy with long black hair and looks displeased in general? I did bump into someone who matches that description... though, unless he has a knack for punching animals in the face and saying very little, I don't think you'd be in luck, sir," Guy said to Thor, inserting himself into the conversation, before giving a two-fingered wave to him and the others.

"But I suppose I ought to introduce myself. Name's Guy! Sounds like I'm your roommate... ah, Teruteru, was it? Let's get along!" He said eagerly to the Ultimate Cook with a laid-back smile, "I don't know how I'd compare to someone with a title like Ultimate Cook, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to help with cooking for everyone! A meal is only as good as the company you have it with after all!" He continued, giving a friendly gaze toward Akane, Peter, Dell, Linkle, Fred, and Silque, along with anyone else who wanted to pop in for a bite.

"At last, the village!" the blue-hued knight rejoiced, raising a triumphant fist in the air as he rushed down to join the rest of the travelers at the center of town, the Drifter following with curiosity. The village of the Valley from which Shovel Knight hails from is a quiet and sleepy town much like this one, home to simple folk who simply wish to farm and peddle their goods and services to the adventurers that pass through. With the Order of No Quarter threatening the land, the village grew much more protective of its borders. Of course, to them, Shovel Knight wields no weapon but a shovel. Now that he's separated from his tried-and-true shovel blade, it's a new and bizarre experience to waltz into a village as naught but an armed stranger.

The Drifter, on the other hand, was always an armed stranger wherever he went. With only one true safe haven located right in the center of the timeless wastes, a small village like this was an oasis.

At the mention of food, Shovel Knight turned to Teruteru, who seemed dressed and fitted for the role of a cook. It helped that Shovel Knight and Teruteru were (roughly) the same height, too. "O, Gastronome! I don't mean to be another burden, but Drifter and I are quite hungry ourselves. Would it be too much to ask that we may partake in this feast?"

"I-I don't have a Meal Ticket on me, but, if I can scrounge up some gold. .." Shovel Knight explored the many containers on his armor, under the impression that he'd need to pay Teruteru to have a meal.

". . ."

The Drifter silently stared at the crackling fire, occasionally sneaking glances at other members surrounding the fire. He hasn't been around such a large congregation of people, it's a bit unnerving. Whenever his eyes fell upon Shovel Knight (who still frantically looked to pay Teruteru), he'd roll his eyes.

Dell's eyes widened as he heard Akane. "Woah, woah, woah! A Lizalfos Tail? Trust me, you do NOT wanna cook with those...you use monster parts for elixirs, not food, unless you want something that looks like vomit." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cricket. "If you guys want me to demonstrate, hand me a monster part and I can."

Enchanted was the local clothing shop, and featured some fancy clothes. The woman working the shop looked down at Enu and gasped.

"You're so cute! Welcome in, honey!"

Enu would find a little magazine on the counter, titled "Traysi's Gossip Mill." It wouldn't have information on fishing spots, but contained the following:

"Miss Margreet of Hateno Village has recently returned from a weeklong trip to Hyrule Castle. She's a beautiful girl and an elegant dancer, but how does she hope to nab one of the many eligible bachelors of Hyrule if she keeps going on dangerous missions? Maybe Dell over in Akkala Tech Lab could be a candidate for her hand...but he's been cooped up in that place for the last two months!"

"Dark hair...displeased with everything...man, if he wasn't a guy, that'd be Maki for sure! Or Kiyo, if he was on the creepy as Hell side of things." Kaito shook his head. "Sorry, Thor. Every guy I met with long dark hair was pretty cool!"

Kaito would follow the guard Dorian to the storage. "Let's see...give me a Raw Meat and Courser Bee Honey! You want anything?"
