[Meredith]
Meredith waved off another friendly face as she left. Today was going well! The atmosphere of the festival put people in good moods, and good moods led to good conversations. Good conversations led to subtle hints about her work, and well, that led to the ultimatum: coin. And if it didn't? Friends were made anyhow!
Though, Fable had the right idea. The square held a good chunk of the most exciting events. More performances, more people, and...Eugh,
fireworks. They looked marvelous from a big distance, but one too many instances of tailfeathers being ignited into flames left a sour taste in her mouth. A lot of folk love to see them and take their beloveds to witness the lights, so Meredith had learned to tolerate them if she was with someone. She'd find a rooftop or balcony to observe them from when the time came if she wasn't occupied, though.
It was noon before she showed her face around once more. Meredith had considered stopping by a tavern at some point, and in all honesty, she didn't have much reasoning to hold back from doing so. The only reason she wasn't there
now is because she needed a sound mind- In her hands, a wrinkled piece of parchment was being looked over with more than one roll of the eyes. Shipments of goods that weren't too heavy to hire a carriage, but too heavy to do it themselves. She was due to set off any day now for it, too: a hangover wasn't worth the risk.
"Oooh, to the gates below with it! I'm never allowed to have fun."
Grumbling to herself, the Harpy had settled down in one of the many seating areas dotted around the square. It was warm, and she was more than content to soak up the sun and people watch for a while instead of zipping about stalls and activities.
