Hayfa Ashemark
Hayfa paused as she heard a noise behind her. She spun around her foot and examined the alleyway behind her. Nothing was there just a pebble, but still some intuition was screaming at her that something was wrong. Weird shit was possible when light and darkness manipulators were involved.

"Hello, is someone there?"she asked.

Jerrot Ashemark

It was getting close to the afternoon now. The group containing Jerrot, Lee, and the guards finished their shopping. The plan was to rejoin Princess Jian her group and join them for the afternoon tour once all of the petitions were heard. The nineteen year old kept a firm hand on his charge as they moved back through the crowds and into the square. They went to stand by the dais.

Cassius
They were drawing towards the final act when the younger princess and her retinue came back from their shopping expedition. The senior Conclave member nodded towards them in acknowledgement as they came to stand next to the dais. He was glad that they were going to be moving on past the entertainment soon. He refocused his attention on the final act.

Fable nodded to the man and turned and went on her way to the square. She found what he said about Harpy's odd but then she shrugged it off and continued on her way. She crossed the bridge and she noticed so many more people of different species and classes. She smiled in excitement, this was her favorite area in the city on this day. People were more willing to deal with each other despite the differences that they saw. She found a good spot in the square and set up her blanket on the ground again and put out her hat, it was empty now since she had put the coins in her bag. She then took a deep breath and began to perform again for a couple more hours.

[Meredith]

Meredith waved off another friendly face as she left. Today was going well! The atmosphere of the festival put people in good moods, and good moods led to good conversations. Good conversations led to subtle hints about her work, and well, that led to the ultimatum: coin. And if it didn't? Friends were made anyhow!

Though, Fable had the right idea. The square held a good chunk of the most exciting events. More performances, more people, and...Eugh, fireworks. They looked marvelous from a big distance, but one too many instances of tailfeathers being ignited into flames left a sour taste in her mouth. A lot of folk love to see them and take their beloveds to witness the lights, so Meredith had learned to tolerate them if she was with someone. She'd find a rooftop or balcony to observe them from when the time came if she wasn't occupied, though.

It was noon before she showed her face around once more. Meredith had considered stopping by a tavern at some point, and in all honesty, she didn't have much reasoning to hold back from doing so. The only reason she wasn't there now is because she needed a sound mind- In her hands, a wrinkled piece of parchment was being looked over with more than one roll of the eyes. Shipments of goods that weren't too heavy to hire a carriage, but too heavy to do it themselves. She was due to set off any day now for it, too: a hangover wasn't worth the risk.
"Oooh, to the gates below with it! I'm never allowed to have fun."

Grumbling to herself, the Harpy had settled down in one of the many seating areas dotted around the square. It was warm, and she was more than content to soak up the sun and people watch for a while instead of zipping about stalls and activities.

Looking longingly towards the town he knew he would be able to now spend a few days within he excitedly shifted the weight of the pelts he carried and the bag at his side of gemstones he had gathered during his outing. the excitement was even more for Ze'v as he witnessed even from a distance the splendor that was fireworks coming from the direction of the town he now strode into. the soft clank of his wrist cross bow that echoed so badly while he was alone in the forests now seemed completely natural with the chatter and exchange of goods in the markets. Meeting up with someone and selling most of his furs for a small amount of spending cash.
The little bag of gems still at his side he would sell later if he remembered, noticing a few markets he hadn't been to before he was sure he had to check each; seeing into a few different stalls he drooled slightly over things he could never afford and grinned excitedly at each of the stall workers.
Before to long Ze'v finally made it to one of the stalls he used often and bought the things he normally came to town for. Turning to the nearest Inn he stood proud for he was going to stay once again for a while or until his money ran out. Entering into a building he let out a holler. “Need a room food and drink for as long as this money lasts.” his voice was deep and had a bite to hit almost as if instead of asking for a room he demanded it but with a smile on his face.
He noticed the inn keeper shake his head and Ze'v Shrugged “No place for a trapper this night it seems Tis' alright I got a friend I'll sleep in a barn again” he turned and walked out of the inn it was his routine to always try the inn first but he nearly never actually stayed the night in this inn he felt trapped by it, he did prefer the barn he rents for one night from the smith who fixes his wrist cross bow.
The Smith had expected him to return and gave a grin and agreed for him to sleep in his barn once more though it was outside of the city it never hurt Ze'v to go back and forth. It also gave him time to see horses and other animals he didn't often in the forests he hunted in.
turning over his cross bow to the smith and turning to the city Ze'v adjusted his head gear and jacket and looked to the streets to see what type of people were hanging around this time.
He moved through the crowds and stopped at the bridge he had crossed once already and looked at the water under he couldn't believe they had this in the town. Continuing he managed to make it back to the main city square where the merchant stalls were set up well. Moving over to the Gardens he inhaled deeply and gave a hearty laugh. “This is a fine city!”
Though he seems like he may not have all of his senses he was also trying hard not to show anything out of the ordinary, he was on purpose trying to appear like some sort of country guy coming to a city for the first time or like an idiot so no one could catch on to his true self. His eyes glistened brightly as he turned and looked around the blue seeming bright against his tan attire. He thought to himself *whom should I try and get to know first. *

After a couple hours, Fable decided to stop for the day. She took a long drink from a flask she carried. Once she finished she put her over clothes back on, even though it was hot, she knew the night would get cool and she had no place to stay. She usually just slept in the square's gardens as she could easily hide, and it reminded her of the wilderness where she preferred to be. Fable knew how to protect herself so that of course never worried her. She glanced around and offered a cheap price to a fur shop for her blanket. She did not need it anymore. She had only made it for her performance anyway. If she ever got cold, she always changed form. After selling the blanket she began to wander around the square, wondering what she was to do with the rest of her day. Fireworks were still not for a few more hours yet. She decided she was going to take a break from socializing with people and made her way to the gardens. As she made her way into the garden she spotted a fountain and sat down at its edge. She closed her eyes and took several deep breaths to calm her mind and block out the overwhelming sounds of the city.

Her dark features relaxed as she calmed down. Her golden eyes seem to blaze as she looked at herself in the water. She smiled, looking forward to making new friends but at the same time, she could not bring herself to stay in the city, where it smelled and was noisy all the time. Fable sighed sadly. "It is what it is." She told herself. Still looking at the water she began to think of what she was to do for the remainder of the day. Maybe she'd do some small jobs just to get a little more money in her pouch.

[Acri Ignis]
Acri enjoyed festival days. A lot of people came into town for it, making business good. She liked the parties, as well. She liked having fun at these events. She even had some extra money to spend if she found something she liked. Acri slipped through the crowd, taking in her surroundings. She sat on a bench, just watching people move around, sometimes watching performances.

A slight kick broke Falkas of his concentration "what the hell?!" He asked before turning around. Surprisingly it was not the hired hand that kicked him but his boss. A man by the name of Hemsley, A grumpy old coot, got his name blowing dynamite during the gold rush almost 50 years ago. with the ceasation of sacrifice to the old gods the need for gold has been regulated to the rich. Since then he has been running A shop in town selling alchemical wares and mixed goods and of course setting up fireworks for the new years. The old dwarf spoke with A slur "I knew ye wouldn't be up to the task, get yer crap together!" the old dwarf move to smack him in the back of the head but falkas was quick managed to duck the swing, now standing across from one another Falkas spoke "you know what? you've been having me do this for three days now and you pay me less than A stable cleaner I ain't doing it anymore." The old man laughed "you think anybody gunn' pay A little punk with shit for brains more then go! But gimme that gold piece back, you don't get paid for A half done job" Falkas nodded pulling out the copper piece from his pouch. The old man smirked "give it here boy" extending his hand. A smile appeared across his face as with the other hand he pulled out A small matchbook. Falkas tossed the coin which the greedy man missed catching this gave him enough time to start A spark ignighting one of the fireworks fuses. The fat man jumped throwing his shirt on the burning fuse putting it out. Making use of the distraction falkas cut the man's purse and ran. This is where we see the age old spectacle of the old half naked fat guy chasing A bearded ten year old through A busy street, both shouting very colorful comments to one another. Being only three and A half feet tall had it's advantages Falkas easily lost the man in the crowd, eventually finding A nice little roof to climb onto. He caught his breath and laid down upon the roof, laughing to himself after A moment his laughter ceased 'how to get my things from the old man's workshop'

(I just wanna say that this made me smile. XDDD)

Looking around the gardens Ze'v gave his outfit a quick pat down to be sure he wasn't as dusty was he figured it was. approaching the nearest person to him he gave a grin and cleared his throat, "Why Hello fellow person. I believe the flowers in the garden are lovely this season." the excitement he had been feeling still flowing as he spoke loud and nearly to a point that may be considered scary. He bent down and sniffed at a flower and looked up slightly. noticing the person he had tried to speak to swiftly walked away from him. he gave a groan and stood back up. "I may need a shower before I talk to people." looking back and forth he casually walked towards the fountain. upon reaching it he shoved his hand in and scooped up some water before he splashed it on his face and arms. "That should help." his grin returned as he turned to talk to the next person he saw. Though he hadn't noticed the woman sitting on the edge of the fountain when he approached. He gave her a guilty smile and started his speech again. this time sounding more unsure than the previous loud time. "Why hello fellow person. The flowers are lovely this season." he reached up and adjusted his googles making sure they were still in the correct place. Then reached for his gem stone pouch and pulled out a single red stone to small for much use and tossed it into the fountain as an offering.

Hayfa Ashemark
There was no answer to her question, but Hayfa felt herself suddenly slammed from behind. She swore loudly. The wig had dislodged from her head and she threw it off the side quickly. It was only going to get in the way now. The nineteen year old rolled and scrambled to her feet even as the shadows closed off the doorways around the alleyway. Using her powers she first transformed her metal arm into a shield and through it up in front of her body.

Her other arm she swung out, scanning in her mind for any stone in the area. Bingo, some on the roof closest to her. She brought down as much as she could with her level of powers and prayed it would hit the shadow spirit. Perhaps disorient it long enough for her to find her way out of the alley.

Antor Library
Siwot District

The celebrations in the Siwot District were generally more quiet affairs then the rest of the city. Well, excepting celebrations going on along the rim of the wall where traveler's were in full swing. The main attraction of the day here was the market on the grounds of Antor College. Essentially it was a massive book sale, but little knick-knacks of leather, wood, and jewels also got sold. Guided tours of the Library were also available for those who were interested.

Weaving through the crowds was someone about 6 1/2 ft tall and dressed in simple brown clothing. They were cloaked in a hood and face mask so it would have been hard for anyone to make out their appearance. They showed no interest in any of the people selling their wares, they just walked steadidly through the crowd and into the library.

"Are you here for a tour?"Teremis, who had worked for the library since forever.

The stranger smiled under their hood.

"No,"they responded. The voice was of the more feminine persuasion. An arm was stuck out from under the cloak. The tips of her fingers slowly coated with frost and suddenly changed to icy spikes that buried themselves into Teremis's throat.

The ice elf woman continued to move through the building shooting ice through display cases, books, and people indiscriminately.

Alchemist Guild Hall
Gadagild District

The fae with the pale peach-coloured skin and very pale blond hair plodded his way down a road in the Gadagild District. He was a little more flashy then most of the people who lived their, but most people dismissed him because it was the new year. Malthis didn't bother to disguise himself like the others. Today was about making a point. He slipped the street that led towards the alchemist's guild hall. In the alleyway he was joined by two women who dark-skinned women who were both dressed in green. Outside of the building were numerous plants put there for aesthetic effect; the three began to grow these until they were over large. They smashed these through the windows of the guild hall and forced them to continue growing.

The three entered the building so they would be sure of the plants killing some of the lead alchemists and making sure some of the latest alchemy experiments got destroyed.

Invention Hall
Ninnes District

Hathei, a lizardman with scales the colour of sea weed spent his morning pursuing the market stalls of the square and watching from the performances in the square from the fringe of the crowds. When the last performance was going on he slipped away and traversed towards the north-western area of the city. He made no effort to examine any other members of the crowd or any of the other festivities. Instead he made a bee line straight for the district's invention hall where new innovations were put to the final test before going on the market. Hathei through his arms up into the air and created a massive wave from the river water's surrounding the main palace and used them to flood through the windows of the invention hall.

Azuris Hospital
Antaris District

They could have gone in under disguise or pretending to be injured but Rasdon quickly nixed that idea with his fellows. It would just waste precious time and the royal party might have enough time to leave before their plan was set into action. There were five of them in all for this was to be the biggest target on their list. Rasdon, one of the three gnomes involved led the way. The group of five set to work burning anything they could come across in the hospital.

There was a large explosion in the next couple of minutes which destroyed a lot of the surrounding area and shattered multiple windows.

City Square

There were two fire elves, who had been watching the entertainments in the square since they began. As soon as the last act finished they both shot fire bolts into two of the area where the fireworks were stored for the show tonight. Many of the them shot off into the crowds causing a panic that they used as a distraction to begin advancing on the dais.

She looked at the man who had approached her at the fountain. She smiled at his awkwardness. Fellow person? Who even said that? And she thought she had a hard time talking to people. Her golden eyes twinkled in amusement. She decided she would use the same phrasing because she found it so amusing. Fable turned so she faced him better. "Why hello fellow person. Yes the flowers are quite lovely. Honestly I have never seen them not lovely. What is your name if I may ask?" Her voice seem to growl slightly as she spoke, feeling a bit nervous suddenly as she sensed it off of him.

She then decided she'd splash water from the fountain on her face because it was hot, and her furs were not helping much nor her nervousness. The water ran down her dark face easily, and made her golden eyes stand out more. She smiled at the stranger, trying to show that she was friendly and non judgemental.

Glancing back at the woman he gave a better grin and started "My name is Ze'v Luan I am a merchant." He thought to himself if that was the correct term or not then continued. "Well actually I sell raw materials to other merchants when I return from the woods weekly. I'm not sure what that is actually called." Giving a shrug he then turned to the flowers and gave a laugh as he thought about what she said 'never not seen them lovely' He had seem plenty of flowers that weren't lovely and some he had come across were really smelly. "What is going on in town today? I saw fireworks while I was heading into town some festival?"

"Honestly I'm not sure what that was about. I made it to the garden before that had happened. Usually they don't set those off until tonight. Maybe it was an accident and they weren't supposed to be. I hope everyone is ok though. I'm Fable Lore by the way. You can just call me Fable. It's nice to meet you Ze'v Luan. I... don't really have an occupation. I perform here every year but otherwise I just get small jobs whenever I actually need money." She played with her thumbs, glancing down at them as she spoke. She hadn't had a conversation go for this long in a while.

[Meredith]

The shouting and raving of two small fellas should have been her first cue to leave. It seemed like typical festival shenanigans: it was funny! There were bound to be a few chaotic interactions at such a busy place and she liked to watch them!
.....
Then the fireworks exploded.
And Meredith was gone.

Scrambling to her feet to get herself into the air, Meredith flung herself upwards to distance herself from the explosions that'd spooked her straight out of her feathers. Between flying back to get away, her panicked gaze darted over the square to pinpoint something to blame. She didn't see culprits caught in the act, but she did see some shifty humanoids making their way through the crowds. It looked like they were heading towards....The Dia--

"HNK--"

Meredith felt a talon catch on the edge of a roof, sending her backward to collide into the tiles with a crack. Not looking where she was going had landed her back-first into one of the small roofs close to the square.
Dazed, she groaned a little and rubbed the back of her head. That was less than graceful.
...A-At least she was the only one up here though, right? No one hung out on roofs! Haha..

Hayfa Ashemark
Hayfa was hit with a couple of shadow spikes on the legs and on the arm that wasn't doubling as a shield. When it came down to it her head and neck were the parts of her body she most needed to protect. She may have been bleeding from three spots in her legs and one spot on her arm, but she was alive. Because she had gotten incredibly lucky with her extremely basic plan of bringing down the roof. The shade at departed and his magic seemed to have dissipated along with him. Feeling like it was now safe to do so she returned her shield back into her arm. This was a trick she learned from months of studying the design of the man who had given it to her. This was extremely useful in combat situations. It would appear she put down the shield too early though because a brick soon smacked her on the forehead. Right, make that bleeding from four places.

Hayfa laid back with a groan. Well, this was not turning out to be her day. It was bad enough when she had to figure out the regular crazies in this city. This one appeared to have been totally random. Jerrot was going to have things to say to her about this. She slowly sat up again moaning. The nineteen year old then pulled off strips from the fluffy part of her dress and used it to bind the bleeding holes in her legs.

It was now time to continue on with her job-

BOOM

There was a sound of a large explosion to the east, and then smaller ones. More like the whining sound from firework when they went off. Hayfa would have thought it a freak accident with the fireworks....but that larger boom and the dark smoke she saw rising over the top of the building left her panicked. She couldn't even be sure of it's exact location.

Jerrot. The girls.

Screw the job right now. If she faced reprimands for this she'd deal with them later. Hayfa began a kind shuffling sprint back out of the alleyway the way she had come and across the road way back to the square. She arrived on a scene of pure chaos; people running away from fireworks. She ignored all this and moved towards the dais.

There were two people moving towards the dais with a little too much purpose. Which didn't make sense with all this panic. She watched them both begin to light up their hands one with fire and the other with more concentrated lightning. Hayfa was too far away to get both of them, but she used one of the fingers off her hand and directed it through the closer one's neck, which was the one with just the fire.

"Protect the princesses! Assassin-"Hayfa yelled, in her loudest voice.

Cassius Warridge

As soon as the last performance was done the royal party stood up. It was time to announce that people could bring their petitions forwards when all there was a loud boom in the distance towards the healer's buildings. Then the fireworks were going off in all directions. Cassius sighed to himself. He turned to one of the guards standing directly in front of the dais.

"Go find which ever idiot set off those fireworks and arrest them."he commanded.

The guard began moving off through the crowd. Cassius motioned to Princess Jian to sit back down since they couldn't be doing anything until the mobs calmed down.

"Protect the princesses! Assassin-"a voice called. He knew that voice, but he couldn't be exactly sure over everything that was going on. The senior conclave member grabbed Jian's arm and pulled her out of her chair. He knocked his own chair out of the way and drew the princess to the back of the dais, keeping his own body between her and any would be assassins.

Behind him he could hear a thud as a body hit the ground. He glanced slightly behind him once he made the princess jump off the dais and back towards the road leading towards the palace.

The lightning had sit the other Conclave member that had been sitting next to him. One of the ice elf guards who was in front of the dais was throwing ice knives into the one who had thrown them.

Jerrot Ashemark
Jerrot heard the fireworks start to go off, but couldn't see them with the guards that stood in front of him and the younger princess, He also heard the yelling and screaming and someone yelling assassin. Which he was pretty sure was his sister. He wished he had a better sight line so he could see if he could help, but his priority right now was the younger princess.

"Jerr-"Lee began.

"It's alright princess, I'll get you out of here."Jerrot replied. When he spoke next he was addressing both his charge and her guards. "We need to get back to the palace now!"

He kept a firm grip on the younger princess's hand and their group began running towards the north of the city.

[Acri Ignis- Town Square]
Acri jumped to her feet as she saw the fire elves going toward the dial. "Oh, no you don't!" She started dover to them, pulling a knife from her boot and tackling one of them, attempting to press the knife to their throat.

Falkas had been deep in thought about how best to commit the act of breaking and entering. Suddenly He was startled, A deafening series of explosions only A block or two away. his footing slipped, he managed to catch himself on the tip of the rooftop. He peered over the top in time to see A body crash into the tile roof with A crack, it was the Harpy Falkas had seen across the street. He began to crawl over when the creature shifted and let out A groan. He was not A gnome of the strictest morals but something, maybe he felt A kindredness to another being that was out of place or just A curiosity but it compelled him to see if the creature was okay. Tugging her wing he spoke louder than normal to overcome the noise of the rushing crowd below "hey! You okay?"

[Acri Ignis- Town Square]
Acri scoffed as she was pushed to the ground by a rude man with shadows. Ugh. Standing up and brushing herself off, she wrinkled her nose at the weird man. She could have used her powers, as well, but she didn't want to get arrested. Like anyone did. But she was a decent person, so she said, "Thank you!" And tried to get out of the way, helping people along the way.
