Parents are dropping off their kids at the car part as the couselors check on everyone as they arrive! It's the first week of summer and everyone is excited for the Summer Camp to start.
Some of the older campers who already know each other take part in excited meetings. Hugs and kisses and "It's been so long!, how was your year?!".
But along with those come the goodbyes to mommy and daddy, a bit of sadness that is quickly shoved to the side by the anticipation of the fun times and activities that have yet to start.
It's funny how they don't know how wrong they are...

Claire had arrived at the camp the day before, her jeep sat in the parking lot and she waited nearby to check kids in after they'd separated from their parents. It was quick and efficient. "Name?" And they would give their name and she would assign their bungalow leaving Abel to show the newbies where it was and get them unpacking so the activities could start soon after everyone was settled. She pulled at her bread as she waited for the first kid to approach.

The brunette groaned a little when she caught sight of the fiery red head bobbing her way. Eliza. "Good morning, Claire!" Nina popped up behind the counselor and the young woman jumped, eyeing the Camp Director. She was always bright and chipper and sounded like every sentence ended with an exclamation point.

"Nina," Greeted Claire.

"What a great group this year, don't you think?!"

Claire made a face. She'd read through the sign up sheets. It sounded like they had a group of kids whose parents just wanted to get rid of them. "Sure is," She agreed and then Nina was gone fluttering off to introduce herself to some of the parents. "I'll have whatever she's having," She muttered to herself.

---

Eliza bounced in the car the last five minutes of the drive. She knew her parents took her here every summer because they were just eager to be rid of her for a few months, but the joke was on them because she loved camp--the two summers the camp had been closed was horrible, for all of them. She was out of the car before it had come to a complete stop, bounding through to find Claire. It was always Claire in charge of assigning bungalows. "Morning!" She chirped, offering the counselor an innocent smile.

Claire eyed her warily. "Morning, Eliza. Bungalow four you remember..."

The redhead was already off and calling over her shoulder, "Where it is? Yeah!"

Hroth looked around the camp. This was the first time he had ever been there, so he was subsequently nervous. He looked around for someone to ask for directions and his eyes fell on two girls. Shit, he thought. Hroth had never been good at talking with girls.

"ummm, excuse me," he said as he approached them, "but could you tell me where Bungalow number one is?"

Being six feet tall, Hroth was forced to look down the two as he expectantly waited for an answer.

Abel trotted back from showing some kids the way to their own bungalows and caught the one asking... ugh, now they were all taller than him. Goddamn, and he was the counselor. Then again, he wasn't particularly tall.
"Hey kid, here, I'm Abel, one of the counselors... look, you cannot miss it. see over there those five small houses?" He said, signing towards them. "The first one starting from the left. If you miss it you should go see a doctor because there must be something wrong with your eyes!" The young man said, grinning constantly and with a cheerful tone of voice.

Well, it wasn't the first time that someone had said he should get his eyes checked, but Hroth didn't pay the often said statement any mind. Looking back at the redhead and sighing ever so softly, damn, I had really wanted to talk to her...

Turning back towards the shorter man, Hroth asked a question. "Thank you for showing me where the bungalow is, but, if I may, who are you?" Hroth gave the man an innocent-looking expression.

He was distracted by the the green-eyed redhead, so he didn't hear the man give his name.

Abel arched an eyebrow. Did this one have hearing problems?... he didn't remember to have read it anywhere.

"Abel... camp counselor" He repeated.
"And you are?"

"I'm Hroth, Hroth Kinders. The name is pronounced h-roth." Hroth extended his hand out to Abel. Then a devious thought crossed his mind.

With a sly smile, Hroth asked, "Do you, by any chance, have a brother named Cain?"

Hroth was sure that he would get on the counselors blacklist with this question, but he couldn't help it. It was just too funny of a thought.

Abel looked at his hand and shook it, smiling softly. "No, I do not have an evil sibling named Cain. Kid. Now go get your stuff into the bungalow and then you can try to socialise, maybe even get some more lame jokes opportunities" He answered, patting the kid on the back and walking over to Clair and the little red Devil.

Hroth made his way over to the first bungalow, making sure to take one last wistful look at the redheaded beauty.

"Ahh, oh well," he mumbled to himself.

As Hroth entered the bungalow he saw three bunks, two of which already had piles of stuff on them. One of them had a bunch of what looked like little mechanical parts around and on it. With curiosity rearing its head, Hroth claimed the empty bed. Setting his bag down, Hroth pulled out his grey hoody and black army jacket. Throwing both of them on over his t-shirt, Hroth walked out of the bungalow.

Damn... He could still see the fiery hair of the girl at the camp entrance.

"I can't believe there's no wi-fi out here," Nico grumbled to himself, angrily punching buttons on his GameBoy as he tried Level Five of Slug Invaders one last time. "No computers, no internet, it's the middle of freakin' nowhere! What are we even supposed to do all day?" His frazzled mom had already handed all his paperwork in, planted a kiss on his cheek despite his protests, and driven off leaving him with instructions to 'at least try to have a good time.' Yeah, right. This was gonna be two months of utter hell.

He was currently sitting at a picnic table off to the side of the parking lot, as he hadn't been particularly interested in greeting the other campers or getting his things settled into a bungalow - god damn, could they be any more cheesy? He didn't want to find out. But it looked like people were really starting to show up now. Maybe he should find someone and ask them where to drop his crap.

After he died yet again on the stupid boss battle, Nico put the game away with a sigh. Might as well figure out where he was supposed to be going. He spotted a two counselors by their staff tee shirts. The chick looked normal enough, but the guy was like some sorta ghost. That was actually pretty cool. Not that anything about this stupid place was cool, he corrected himself quickly in his head. Nico grabbed his backpack, heading over to where they were directing the flow of traffic.

"Am I supposed to be somewhere?" he asked the pair, popping his gum. "I'm Nico Galvez. My mom gave someone my forms I think, but she left." Left him at this stupid camp, where nothing exciting would happen all summer.

Abel was chatting with some other kid and pointing them in the general direction of the bungalows when Nico approached. The pale counselor grinned at the kid. "Let me take a look, kid..." He said, humming some song theu definitely hadn't heard before. Not even ten seconds passed before the guy shifted and stood besides Nico. "Here. Bungalow two, you can leave your stuff there!, the Bungalows are over there, and they have the numbers besides the doors, so unless you never learned how to count you shouldn't have any trouble, no trouble at all~" he practically sang the last sentence.

A Police cruiser pulled up to the parking lot, drawing the attention of passerby's. As it neared the drop off point it stopped and the Officer got out of the car, circling around the vehicle she opened the door and let Leon out, interesting, there are so many others here, Leon thought to himself.
He had never been to camp, but he was sure it would be a better option than the Boys Home that he was accustomed to. He was led to the sign up table where a women with a clipboard was greeting and assigning campers, the Officer not letting go of Leon's hand like he was a five year old did nothing but annoy him, it was hard enough being this short at his age, its another to need a hand held.

Once they reached the table she let go of his hand and handed the woman his paperwork, "hello, this is Leon Trekeb,"

Naomi swung her long legs out of her mum's car and slid out into the fresh air. She turned her head to look towards the camp grounds, her loose dreadlocks hitting against her back as she did. From what she'd heard about the camp, this was going to be a pretty good summer. The only downside was that her training was on halt; there wasn't a pool, there were no bikes, and she'd been told very sternly by her mother not to go running. Maybe she could find a forest path, or something.

Her mother seemed to read her mind, and spoke up, South African accent as prominent as usual. "No training, no matter what, you know? There is bumpy ground here. You might trip and fall and twist your ankle!" She dramatised. "You are trying out new things. Who knows, maybe you will come back and I will get you playing for Arsenal!" She laughed.
Naomi sighed and nodded. "I know," she muttered, not responding to the football club joke. Naomi sounded far more English than her parents, though there was still some South African to it.
Her mother nodded. "Good. I will help with your bag."

A few minutes later and Naomi's mum had handed in the paperwork and helped carry the case the entire way, even though Naomi insisted she could get it herself. Her mum pulled her into a tight hug. "You have your Epipen?"
Naomi nodded. "It's in the case," she said, nodding towards the matt black suitcase.
"Good. You are going to have a great time."
A kiss was planted onto Naomi's cheek, and then her mother disappeared in her shiny silver Mercedes-Benz.

Naomi turned back to the camp, looking for where the bungalows were. She spotted a very pale man in a staff t-shirt directing another teen towards a few small buildings. She could tell from where she was standing that they were numbered, and she could just spot a number four by one of the doors. Pretty confident that that was it, she walked over. Just as she was coming close, there was another girl. She could see the bright red hair from where she was. It was almost impressive.

She gave the girl a closed-mouth smile. "Hi! I'm Naomi. Are you in this bungalow too?" She asked, jabbing a thumb towards the bungalow that was next to them.

Nina was super chipper and super excited with every camper that she met. To the police officer, she was absolutely delighted to meet Leon! To the mom with the boy glued to his video game, she was so thrilled to have him! With the South African family she was So! Happy! This was going to be a great summer!

Claire rolled her eyes at the camp director and instead helped assign the kids bungalows. The girls were easy as there weren't many arrived yet at camp. Definitely a larger number of boys this year. She looked to her clipboard to find the list missing.

Eliza beamed as a girl approached them. She glanced at the bungalow assignments stolen from Claire and back at the girl. "I'm Eliza." Her Irish accent was heavy. "Yupp, it's going to be me, you, and some girl named Izzy. Just us girls." She turned the paper around to offer it to Naomi and beamed at her new friend with the interesting hair. "First time at camp or just first time here?"

Izzy was starting to feel very apprehensive about saying yes to this whole camp deal. She had been looking forward to it but now that she was actually there, it just hit her hard that she knew practically no one here. Well, she could always go ahead and make friends. But that's always the hardest part - meeting new people. Especially when people tend to look at her the way someone looks at a kid who can't stay still nor quiet - silently judging at worst, confused at best. Never mind that she couldn't help it.

"Now have a good time now, Izzy," her father closed the door behind her.

She waves back at him with an unsure smile. "I'll try."

As her father leaves, she turns around. Her shoulders Breathes in. Breathes out (only to be cut off into a few short high pitched wheezing noises). She's gonna do this. She's gonna have this summer holiday and enjoy it. And if anyone tries to stop her. Well, she's just gonna have to deal with them. Either with words or fists. Readjusting her backpack on her twitchy little shoulders, she goes up to an older girl who seems to be assigning the other kids to their bungalows.

"S'cuse me, where exactly am I supposed to go ?"

Naomi couldn't quite hide her surprise at the sudden Irish accent. Her eyebrows raised, she lightly took the paper. She scanned over it quickly, then held it back out to Eliza. "That's good. My dad would fade away if I was sleeping with boys nearby!" She laughed. She shook her head. "Never been to a camp. I'm looking forward to it, though." She opened the bungalow door and stepped inside, holding the door for Eliza. She looked to the beds in the room. "Do you mind if I take a bottom bunk?" She asked.

After the Officer had Relinquished Leon to the camp she hastily took her leave, Leon pulled at her arm before she could and held out his hand, looking very serious at the Officer. In his sly Scottish English accent he spoke for the first time to the her "Could you be so kind as to returning my Gauntlet, Please? its all I have left." Taken back a small bit the Officer nodded and headed to the Squad Car and hurried back with Metallic Gauntlet of sorts, it has some wiring and metal plating on it making it look like Cyber armor of some knight. "No getting out of hand Leon, You hear me mister?"

What an annoying Bitch, just give me my Gauntlet, he thought to himself, smiling up at her "Of course Mum, wouldn't dream of it," after finally getting it back he quickly put it on, reaching to his elbow, he instinctually flexed his right hand, it felt good having it back.

Looking about the camp he saw all the other kids arriving and socializing, hmmph, these next two months were going to be taxing if he didn't even Try to get along with someone. After getting his bunk assignment he quickly took his stuff to the Bungalow and packed it all away. then he began for the door, and looked out to the main camp. A flash of red in the distance caught his eyes, it was a rambunctious girl running about the place, it seemed like she knew her way around the area, others seemed to drone about aimlessly unless instructed otherwise. Guess i better make some friends, he groaned to himself

Nico gave the counselor a dirty look. 'Unless you never learned to count...' stupid peppy kids at a stupid peppy camp. He couldn't hide his annoyance at the older boy's singsong tone as he directed Nico to the bungalows. Yeah, this was gonna be a long summer.

With a long-suffering sigh, Nico made his way down to bungalow two. He peeked inside cautiously, but so far it seemed he was the only camper there. At least there was some good news. He tossed his things on the top bunk and climbed up the wooden ladder, surveying the view. Not bad.

He wasn't sure what they were doing for the rest of the day, but for now, Nico was content to power up his video game again and zone out. Level five. For the millionth time, the slug monsters surrounded his avatar and he zapped them down one by one. Someone would come by and tell him where to go eventually, he reasoned. Or if they didn't, that was fine with him, too. He hoped his roommates weren't too annoying.

Hroth looked out across the camp as more and more people began appearing. He watched as the redheaded girl went about, well, he did that until a metallic flash caught his eye. Leaving his grey hood down, Hroth made his way towards the source of the flash.

As he got closer to bungalow number two, Hroth caught sight of an auburn haired kid with a metal glove. Wha...

Hroth took a few more steps before calling out to the other camper, "Hey, why do you have a gauntlet?"

Claire inhaled deeply. Luckily for her there was only one other girl missing so she was able to give Izzy an encouraging smile and point the nervous girl in the right direction. She saw the bright red hair of Eliza and pointed her out to Izzy. "Where those two girls are talking, that building right there." She nudged the girl forward. She caught sight of the bungalow list in the little terror's hands and groaned. Of course she would try to learn names and bungalow assignments before getting to know the other kids.

Preparation.

Eliza beamed at the approaching new girl and waved her down. "You must be Izzy!" She was delighted to introduce herself, trying to determine if these girls would be helpful in her activities or hinder them. Following Naomi in she shook her head, "I don't mind." There were two sets of bunk beds and she waited to see if Izzy would want the top of bottom. "I've been to this camp every year since I was twelve. It's a lot of fun. Abel is strange, Nina is crazy, Claire is easily frustrated. Justin is easy going and couldn't really care less what's going on, and Hope... is spacey." She beamed.
