Melody gave a sheepish smile and back away slightly, suddenly noticing the book, which was a dictionary for Dutch. She felt a bit of guilt, although not enough that she was really apologising.
"No reason, other then it's fun! I've been wanting to trick someone for a while now, and what's better than at Halloween? Regarding book, by the way, Let me just do something.."
Melody snatched the book and although it looked like she was going to rip it or something, she pointed her wand at it and said an incantation.
"What was it..ah! Tergeo! There, all done!"
Tergeo, the drying spell. Melody can be quite nice it seems.

Wisteria wasn't exactly convinced the professor was in any shape to go monster hunting, but here they were. Not planning to be the one who ran away, she went along with the rest into the dungeon. Even if it still seemed like the professor belonged in a sickbed rather than in the dark dungeon. Pulling out her wand, she kept her eyes peeled for...a big thing with red eyes and claws. Whatever that might have been. Was no plant, certainly.

"Splitting up is more efficient, but we're looking for a monster right? Shouldn't we stick together?"

"H-hé!" Rolien said as sthe book was snatched out of her hands. Her face looking like she was about to explode, as if she wanted to redecorate Melody's face with her bare hands, until she used the drying spell on the book. She quickly grabs the book from Melody. She then opened the book to quickly get through it. After a few moments of going through it, she closes the book. She then proceeded by throwing the book towards Melody's face, having now lost her temper. "Weet jij hoe moeilijk het is om zo'n boek hier te vinden?! Dit was het enige boek dat ik hier heb gevonden voor Engels naar Nederlands! Jij nietnut!" Rolien yelled at this point in anger towards the older student. Which would most certainly draw the attention of any students and teachers in the nearby vicinity.

Weet jij hoe moeilijk het is om zo'n boek hier te vinden?! Dit was het enige boek dat ik hier heb gevonden voor Engels naar Nederlands! Jij nietnut!: Do you know how difficult it is to find a book like this here?! This was the only book that I found here for English to Dutch! You idiot!

Melody looked confused at her for a moment, until that book hit her hard in the face.
"Hey, I fixed it for you...Oh. Should have known the ink would get wet. Oh calm down would you?! I'll take it to the teachers and see if there can do anything about it, so don't go around shouting around or I'll have the urge to jinx you! Goodness first years are a bunch...I'm sorry, that must have sound a bit harsh."
Melody still held the dictionary on on hand, while pointed at Rolian with the wand on the other. The two are certainly going to reprimanded at least.

"W-Well then! Follow me!" The heroic gesture was ruined by the rumbling of the thunder outside that made Professor Fantasma scream out in freight. "U-umm..." No more words were said as he pulled out his wand and used a lightning charm so that the tip of his wand lit up so that they could see more clearly. As for Adele checking up on him. "N-No, it's fine..." His stomach rumbled in displeasure. "J-Just nerves."​

They wandered the hallways a good while until they finally stumbled upon a clue or, more that perhaps the professor had spoken the truth. Claw marks on the wall next to the stairwell leading to the dungeon. "W-Well...come along students. P-Perhaps wands ready, yes?"

The dungeons as usual were dark and dank, it was going to be quite hard to tell where this creature might have gone down here. "K-Keep your eyes peeled now..." The path split into three, forward, left and right. Perhaps a brief investigation could help them pin point where they should go next?​

Rio nodded at Kit's determination to come along, bur honestly he really was worried about his little brother staying safe. Especially after what happened to Sandra... but it would be okay. He was here to keep Kit safe.

At Juno's comment, Rio snorted. "You're pretty interpreted yourself," he replied, hoping he used the word right. Either way, they were off...after he jumped from the sudden lightning a second time. Keeping his wand out, Rio refused to stay away from Kit even an instant, and at the fork, he looked to their group. "So uh...split up?"​

"Splitting up is more efficient, but we're looking for a monster right? Shouldn't we stick together?"​

"...We definitely should not split up. Let's just check out the three paths before choosing which one to follow," Adele was a bit hesitant in allowing any of her friends going by themselves as it would devastate her seeing anyone injured or killed. Drawing out her wand, Adele would approach the front entrance seeing it's surrounding walls before walking into the entrance. She wanted to investigate which path was most likely taken by their monster. Seeing the claw marks meant that Professor Fantasma didn't imagine what he saw. Thus, she was kind of disappointed how the authorities of Hogwarts did nothing to even make sure that their quarters was safe. "Umbridge should have taken more caution with this. Are these claw marks even fresh?.."

Two months have passed, and Julius didn't see anything out of the blue happen during that time. No one debated further on Sandra's disappearance, the deal with the supposedly stolen books dropped from the surface of discussion, and classes continued like nothing else has happened. Well, if it didn't bother his studies, he didn't mind it at all. For now, it was the least of his worries, until now...

❝ Huh... that's... uh, new. ❞ Julius commented as he was slightly late on seeing what was the fuss with Professor Fantasma. So something was out of the blue again, guess he would figure out what was the problem, because he didn't like being left on the dark on these types of matters. Those claw marks definitely gave off red flags that this was bad enough already.

❝ Obviously hostile. Unless someone here wants to be stupidly brave and split up for the rest of us, I think staying together is a better approach. ❞ Not like he would be doing this alone, or more so he didn't want to be the next possible unfortunate case at Hogwarts.

Professor Swagglebone cocked an eyebrow as he looked Sam over. "Perhaps I will listen to you once you have finally found your words." He responded in a dry tone.

Kit jumped at Professor Fantasma's scream, and he made a slightly startled sound himself, before a small sigh escaped through his nose.

Following the group a little hesitantly, he gripped his wand tightly, knuckles becoming white as his face grew a little pale. Trying to keep his fear hidden while staying close to Rio, he internally questioned his life choices upon seeing the dark dungeon. He didn't even want to blink, and felt thr hair on the nape of his neck stand on end a bit.

Against his better judgement, and a knot twisting in the pit of his stomach, Sam moved after them. Dammit, he should've just stayed in that room with Mary. Sure, he would've had to talk to that professor, but that probably wasn't as dangerous as what appeared to be going on here.

Anxiously, Sam grabbed onto the back of Kit's shirt and gave it a few weak tugs.

"Um, wh-what are you guys doing?"

If Kit looked over his shoulder, he would see a spooky monster mask to greet his vision. Sam had completely forgotten to take it off.

Uncertain why Kit reacted the way he did, Sam let out a yelp and let go of the other boy's shirt. Taking a step back away from him. It was only moments later he realized he was still wearing his Halloween mask. "A-Ah, yes it's me. Sorry about that!" Sam quickly shot back in response, moving to take his mask off afterwards. He tucked it within his robes, figuring that this group didn't seem to be celebrating Halloween. Kit confirmed this when he explained what exactly they were up to.

Every fiber of his being screamed to leave this place and not look back, to turn and run the other way as fast as he could, but Sam wouldn't allow himself to do that. If something happened to Rio or Kit, the blond knew how much it would hurt Isolde. The boy wasn't sure if he'd ever be able to face her again if something bad happened to them after walking away from an opportunity to help. And, truthfully, he had his own reasons for staying. Kit was... his friend too. They were alike in a lot of ways, and Sam knew that if he was scared of this situation, Kit probably was too. He couldn't leave now.

"I understand and, um, I-I may not look like much, but... I know a lot of handy spells. I could tag along too... j-just in case you need more help." And today Sam was having a pretty good day. He had a lot more stamina than normal so he figured he could at least keep up with everyone a while longer.

"I-I know you haven't been doing a-any d-defence against the dark arts t-training bu-" Suddenly they heard a crashing sound coming from down the corridor. "C-Careful now." Professor Fantasma motioned for them to follow him. It sounded like it came from the Potions Classroom. Once at the door the professor stood there silently for a moment before opening the door as gently as possible.

The opening of the door revealed a quiet classroom. Nothing seemed to be out of place except from a few vials that had fallen to the floor. "S-Stay vigilant students!" Fantasma replied as he stumbled in with his wand on the ready.​

So, he forced himself to stay cautious-and Sam's arrival just reinforced that. Even if he didn't spend as much time with Isolde this year, he still loved her and wanted to help her little brother out.

Inside the classroom, Rio decided to get a better look at the place. "Do you know what kind of classroom this is, Professor?"

Gloriosa chuckled when the prank was revealed to her. "Oh! Oh cheeky, very cheeky. Let me see if I can fix this." She took out her wand and pointed it at the book. "Tergeo!" And water left in the pages were sucked out and the book looked as good as new. "Zo goed als nieuw!" She replied cheerfully in rather shaky Dutch to Rolien. "How has Hogwarts worked with you Ms Langenberg?" She asked the first year. "I hope people are helping you with the English, I know how tricky it can be to try and learn in a second language."

As Kit leaned down to investigate the vials he felt that something dripped down on his shoulder. Touching it with his hand he found it to be wet and warm.

"A-Ah..." Professor Fantasma noticed this and looked up and became pale as a sheet as he gently grabbed Kit and calmly started to back away. If Kit looked up he could seem something huge and monstrous staring down at him with red eyes that seemed look into his very soul. However Fantasma didn't manage to pull Kit far when the creature hiss in anger and leaped down to the floor.

A real monster was now staring the students and the professor right in the face. "Stupef-!" The professor didn't manage to get the stun spell out as the monsters large arm slammed into Fantasma sending him crashing over the table and dragging everything on it with him as he landed on the ground. The monster then turned its attention towards the students and started to make its way towards them.​

"KIT!!!!!" Rio instinctively cried out as his little brother seemed to be right in the line of that...thing's attacks. No way, no how, Kit was NOT going to be harmed!! When Fantasma failed to stun the beast, Rio would leap into action and get Kit as far away as possible. As he did, he would point his wand at the monster. "P-P..." He couldn't find the words to cast his spell. All that could go through his mind was keeping Kit safe no matter what.

❝ You've got to be kidding me... ❞ Julius was hoping that this was just some elaborate and distasteful prank, but it turned out that there was an actual monster lurking at their school. In a time of panic, he basically ran through options on what to do. Almost like a gut reaction, he aimed his wand at the monster and blurted out, ❝ E-Everte Statum!! ❞

Possibly making more of a mess of this potions classroom, Julius intended to force the creature back. Of course, he was scared out of his mind, and his execution with his spell was indeed sloppy. Normally no one would see him lose his cool that badly, but they couldn't blame him. This was pretty bad, finding a live monster that could do some real harm to them.

Gloriosa chuckled when the prank was revealed to her. "Oh! Oh cheeky, very cheeky. Let me see if I can fix this." She took out her wand and pointed it at the book. "Tergeo!" And water left in the pages were sucked out and the book looked as good as new. "Zo goed als nieuw!" She replied cheerfully in rather shaky Dutch to Rolien. "How has Hogwarts worked with you Ms Langenberg?" She asked the first year. "I hope people are helping you with the English, I know how tricky it can be to try and learn in a second language."

"I-It's the potions classroom. I-I would hope you've been here once d-during your stay. Though...considering the p-professors..." Seemed like Fantasma wasn't much of a fan of Swagglebone. Either way Fantasma went to see where the vials had dropped to look over them. "I-It's weird though...h-how could a huge t-thing like that just vanish? M-Maybe I did just imagine things..."

Rolien takes the book. It was already dry when the teacher used the ability. She looked with confusion as the spell did nothing to fix it. Though seemed a bit relieved to hear the teacher speak Dutch, although not all too well. "Het is een beetje... vreemd hier. Het is erg anders dan een basisschool... Sorry dat ik niet Engels spreek, maar ik heb nog niet eens een jaar Engels gehad op school. Het is erg moeilijk om te begrijpen wat sommige zeggen." Rolien said before showing the book from the inside. "Heeft u toevallig een trukje om tekst terug te brengen? Want ik denk niet dat het mogelijk is om zo'n boek hier in Engeland te vinden." Despite it's large frame the monster was sent flying backwards through the spell cracking the wall as it did so. If it was hurt was another thing entirely because it didn't take it long to get back to its feet not looking any less daunting as it brandished its claws against the group.

Gloriosa dope slapped herself. "Of course! Silly me! Reparo!" A flick of her wand and saying the word made the book completely mend itself, text and all. "Now it's as good as new for real! Regarding English, if you need a tutor I'm sure the school can help you in some way to make it easier for you! My Dutch is a bit rusty but I can try and help where I can!"
