"One thing that wizards haven't found an easy fix for I'm afraid." Gloriosa replied. "But we're going to try our best regardless! Right?"

@Donder172 @MelodyMeister
"Eh... Maybe I... could be the... eh... first one." Rolien said with a bit of hope in her tone.
Melody looked away from the teacher since she had a feeling what was going to happen, and she let out a small sigh when the professor didn’t yell at her or something. Still, she wasn’t smiling now due to the teacher walking in, and she put her wand down. She made a small chuckle when the professor did the exact same thing as she did, but it didn’t lighten her mood.
“..Sorry, by the way, Rolian. I mean, you’re still kinda soaked and all but that should dry, but I really should have though about the dictionary. I’m not really sure what I can do to help though..”
@Jeremi @Donder172
"I... ehh... I... don't think... you can... eh... help now..." she said towards Melody "But... I... eh... vergeef je... be... voorzichtig in de toeomst."

Vergeef: Forgive
Voorzichtig in de toekomst: Careful in the future.

"Slithering kind maybe...but no! Even more crawling hissing even! Stoney glares they have yesss." If the two looked at the roast a bit closer it looked kind of peculiar...were those scales covering the huge slab of meat? "Final time. What is the secret ingredient?"

@dark @Lucky
Alcander Montanari

Alacander eyed the roast. "Snakes." He eyed Ian again and nodded "Did I guess right?"

"E-easy Peofessor." he said in concern. Kit moved to help the man up, and helped remove some of the glass and debris off of his person.

"C-c'mon, we have to..." have to what? Gather with the rest and run? He wasn't sure how effective that would be, but he wasn't going to leave Fantasma if that were the case. Keeping that thing at bay was all they could do at the moment.

"Did you break a-any bones?" he quickly changed the subject, keeping his voice as steady as possible so he wouldn't look as scared as he felt.

@Jeremi @Yun Lee @Ver @Archmage Jeremiah @Otto @Neko Shogun @Kaykay @Glostechk @FantasmaCommotion

"I-I'm fine." The professor mumbled as he got back to his feet. "W-What's going on?" He looked around shocked eyes going wide when he spotted the monster again. "C-Careful children!"

Wisteria peeked over at Fantasma as she thought about tending to him for a moment, but it seemed Kit had it covered at the moment. That meant they had to focus on the monster before they had any more injured to worry about. If normal spells didn't seem to be of any use, then there had to be another method to get rid of this thing. Brandishing her wand once more, she casted another spell.

"Wingardium Leviosa!"

Rather than attacking the monster directly with a spell, Wisteria sought to lift the table and bring it down onto the monster!

@Jeremi @Yun Lee @Ver @Archmage Jeremiah @Otto @Neko Shogun @Takumi @Glostechk

The table crashed down hard on the monster but much like the other spells this only seemed to slow it down for a moment.

"Ms. King, keep it at bay!" Juno exclaimed as the levitating spell was cast by Wisteria. With that, she took a hold of the so-called confusion concoction and hastily splashed it onto the monster who was hopefully rendered temporarily unable to move. Juno admittedly wasn't sure if it would even really affect the creature in any significant way, but it was a desperate time, and she had to do something!

@Jeremi @Kaykay @Takumi @Yun Lee @Otto @Archmage Jeremiah @Glostechk @Neko Shogun

The vial was thrown and hit the monster. At first it didn't seem to do anything until the monster suddenly stopped right in its tracks looking utterly spaced out. Before any else could react though a horrible curse echoed through the room. "Avada Kedavra!" A blinding green light hit the monster right in its back making it fall to its knees, but still it tried to get back to its feet. "Avada Kedavra!" Another blinding green light and the monster's legs buckled under it. "Avada Kedavra!" Three times the killing curse hit. The spell echoed in the air three more times before the monster finally fell one last grasp with it claw before it dropped lifeless to the floor.

The silence was palpable for a long while until someone finally spoke up. "I-Is everyone alright?" Professor Fantasma looked absolutely haggard as he stood there with his wand still pointing at the dead monster. He looked down at the monster and then his wand and with a shock he dropped it, now first realizing what he had done. "I-Is everyone alright?" he repeated the question to the students in the room. "P-Please?"

"Well...we can try our best!" Was Gloriosa's reply to Rolien.

Alcander Montanari

Alacander eyed the roast. "Snakes." He eyed Ian again and nodded "Did I guess right?"

@Lucky @Jeremi

Grammy stood there for a moment before shrugging. "Close enough." And handed the vial over to Alacander. "Basilisk roast is good for you! Hehehehehehe!" With that she waddled off leaving the students behind.

"...shit."

Rio didn't know what to say other than that. Meek Fantasma knowing and using the killing curse? That curse actually working on that creature? There was...a lot to take in about all of this. Glancing at Kit, Rio was relieved he was okay, and almost ran to him to doublecheck. But first and foremost, Rio wanted to figure out just what that creature was. If he didn't know better, it was possuble that might have been the reason for Sandra to look like...how she looked.

Stepping forward towards its body, rather cautious in case it jumped up again, Rio tried to see if he could recognize it. "Professor...um, you ever see anything like this before?"

"?!"

Juno let out a shocked gasp as the meek Fantasma suddenly cast the forbidden Killing Curse on the monster, not once, not twice, but three times. It was one thing that the creature managed to survive three such blasts, but for the teacher to suddenly do something like that... She really was at a brief loss.

The Ravenclaw was hardly able to respond even after things seemed to calm down (as much as they possibly could in any case) and Fantasma asked if everyone was alright. As far as Juno could recall, it didn't seem like anyone was grievously hurt, but she couldn't say that aloud, for the words were stuck in her throat for some reason. It was only when Rio broke the silence that she could speak again as well.

"That monster... I-It isn't like anything I've ever seen before. It looked... almost like a demon," she murmured, holding her arm as she tried her best to compose herself. Of all the fantastical beasts Juno had seen or heard about in her life, between imps, gnomes, pixies, trolls, and so on, there was nothing that she could compare that monster to quite like a "demon." It had looked like it rose from the depths of Hell itself, and the young witch found herself wondering for a second if that was indeed where it came from...

Alcander Montanari

Just as Grammy wadded off, she handed Alcander a mysterious vial. He studied it for a second.

@Jeremi @Lucky

The vial seemed to have some form of golden liquid inside of it, otherwise there wasn't anything peculiar about it.

"Uh..."
Fantasma stammered for a moment before he could respond. "N-No, never, a-and magical beasts have b-been a hobby and...no never..."

Rio looking closer to the monster revealed that it was in fact dead, this was an ex monster laying before him. He did notice however that there was an opening in the floor. It seemed to be a hatch of some sort.

"Well, I think I've found why it went to this classroom..." Rio would try opening the hatch to see what was inside.

@Jeremi @Ver @Takumi @Kaykay @Gummi Bunnies @Otto @Glostechk @ArchmageJeremiah

The hatch opened with a jangling sound as the rusted hinges pulled up. This was no doubt used for storage with cauldrons and whatever is needed to brew potions. Some sort of tar like substance was seeping through the wall making it hard to see anything else but the pitch black substance oozing through the walls and into the room.

Kit was speechless as Fantasma said the killing curse. Meek Fantasma? Casting the killing curse, not only that but more than three times? It almost made the gears in his brain stop working for a moment before he was snapped out of it by the Professor asking if they were alright. Nodding slowly, Kit moved to see what Rio was looking at. He merely glanced over his shoulder with a frown. What was even up with this tar like substance?

@Jeremi @Yun Lee @Ver @Archmage Jeremiah @Otto @Neko Shogun @Kaykay @Glostechk @FantasmaCommotion

Ew...what the Hell was that stuff? Rio didn't want to look at it anymore. Honestly, with all that happened these past few months, he got the feeling something big would go down soon. What it was exactly, he didn't know. But the time to think on that was later. For now, he turned to Kit.

"Hey, you doing okay?" He had to admit, Kit holding his own was impressive, but still. He was Rio's little brother. He couldn't help but worry.

Kit didn't answer right away, glancing to the monster, then the tar like substance, then back at the monster again before glancing down at his feet.

"I'm not hurt or anything, but that was...really scary." Kit muttered with a shrug, before looking up at his brother.

"You okay?" he asked.

@Yun Lee

"Pfft, you kidding? I'm just fine!" A total lie. Rio was not doing okay at all. Everything was a complete disaster. This was supposed to be a fun final year at school, and yet there was a dead girl, a magic-immune beast, weird tar, and missing books. All in just two months! And he barely got to see his girlfriend, and was worried sick about Kit finding out anything...which was why he was putting on a brave face right now.

Thougb his expression did turn serious as he stared at the monster. "Yeah...this is terrifying. I...what is that thing? And how is it resistant to magic?"

@Takumi

Adele froze at the scene of the monster and the others fighting. She was never really prepared to defend herself in a situation like this as she felt bad for not really helping out. Instead of shaming herself, Adele decided to take out a slip of paper and a pen from her pocket, quickly sketching out the monster that they've seen. She recorded the spells and objects used by the students to defend themselves from the creature; however, the girl decided to not mention the killing curse that Professor Fantasma had used. Placing the note back into her pocket, she approached the professor making sure that he was alright. "Resistant to magic... but you used the killing curse?" At this point, she was so quiet in saying her words that it almost sounded like she was mumbling.

Keith wasn't sure what to say, or even feel for that matter, but there were a lot of questions to ask now that the battle was over. His years of frustration finally reached the boiling point. "I mean, I guess it was justified here, but this is-- what the fuck? First of all, how the hell did this freak even get into Hogwarts, and how did it take three fuckin' curses to kill the damn thing? I swear, this place takes the fuckin' cake," he exclaimed, taking a few steps back and leaning against a nearby wall. His expression was a mixture of anger, confusion, and fear. "Some of us could've died. How much is this school even investing in the safety of its students? Why the fuck did Umbridge dismiss the problem!?"

After venting passionately, he sighed and looked down at the ground, muttering, "Can this year just be over already...?"

Wisteria's eyes widened as Fantasma suddenly pulled out the killing curse three times in a row. Not to speak ill of the man, but she'd hardly expected that from someone of his nature. Still, it seemed to have been effective unlike the rest of their efforts, so she couldn't really think to criticize his use of the spell. She remained silent, unsure what exactly to do in this situation. Trying to keep people upbeat was in her nature, but it felt impossible in this atmosphere.

This school was way too messed up.

Fantasma seemed to take a double take at that. "A-Ah...p-perhaps we s-shouldn't be so...hasty?"

Watching in awe as Fantasma blasted the monster back to the Hell that spawned it, Nikki was speechless. She had only heard hushed whispers and stern warnings concerning the incantation, Avada Kedavra. The words were always spoken like a putrid curse; a fiendish weapon used only by the lowest of the low which guaranteed immediate death upon its target. As if it weren't shocking enough to watch Fantasma so boldly wield it with a bravado she had only ever seen in him when meeting one-on-one, the beast had withstood the first two casts. Twice over did it cheat death.

She was snapped out of her trance when Rio announced he had found something, and immediately did she dash to his side to take a peek inside the hatch herself. Nikki was overcome with a morbid curiosity while she watched the viscous, inky black liquid spill out of the stone walls and slowly fill the storage cellar, coming into contact with potion reagents and brewing tools. After falling into another, albeit shorter trance, Nikki breathed a sharp gasp and her head snapped up straight to view the slain beast slumped in a charred corner of the room.

The hatch opened with a jangling sound as the rusted hinges pulled up. This was no doubt used for storage with cauldrons and whatever is needed to brew potions. When Rio looked inside however he was met by a weird sight. Some sort of tar like substance was seeping through the wall making it hard to see anything else but the pitch black substance oozing through the walls and into the room.

"Don't touch anything?" Nikki loudly parroted the words, turning to Fantasma with a scowl, "This black sludge is touching everything! It's ruining Swagglebone's whole inventory! And that- thing- could've been in here chugging potions, or just...wrecking them!" mouthed off the shook Ravenclaw, coming to stand and wildly gesture out towards the monster in question, "Is there a potion that resists magic? Or curses? Or, no, maybe this anomaly of an undocumented hell-creature reacts to potions differently? Reacts to spells differently?" Nikki continued.

Past a certain point, she began to sound less like she was worried, and more like she was just confused and trying to work out every possibility in the vain hope of stumbling upon a eureka moment. It sure appeared as though she had, though, as she soon fell silent, and narrowed her eyes at the downed beast, then turned to peer down the hatch again.
"Or perhaps..." Nikki murmured, brusquely brushing past anyone standing between her and the monster as she brandished a short knife. Kneeling before its corpse, Nikki cautiously held her knife to its arm, and firmly pressed the blade against its hide and attempted a horizontal incision, seeking to draw blood with a small vial held ready to collect it.

"I-I didn't see no other way..." He mumbled apologetically to Keith and the rest of the group. "I-I couldn't...I couldn't allow it to take another victim..."

Nikki's fuzzy ears jumped upon catching the professor's mumblings, and the costumed Ravenclaw was hasty in her reaction. "Wha-" she first stuttered as she whipped around to again stare down Fantasma with a scowl, "Another victim? Who was the first victim?! Is there more than one victim?!" Nikki grilled the professor with real concern returning to her voice. She paused however; taking a breather while gears turned in her head, "...did you know about this thing beforehand?"
