"No," the barbarian replied, not seeming to catch Cinder's little pun. "Trapping and arming are two very different things. Whether or not you can fight back means nothing to me...except give me a bit of a challenge."

To Ashe and Nishiki, he frowned, slightly irked. "If listening really is your only option, you're bad at it. In a few minutes we're going to be headed to my boss, once my associate gets here to help escort you all. And as for that waif out there...yes, that was me. Those machines of theirs make for a fun chase every now and then."

"So you're a fan of cat and mouse, I take it," Akande noted.

The barbarian grinned. "Something like that. Unfortunately my boss prefers you alive, so I can't really enjoy myself too much...unless one of you decides to make my day and attempt escape, of course."

"....I see...." At first that was all Ashe needed to say. He could easily determine that this man in front of them was a very deadly individual when it came to the use of bladed weaponry. A direct confrontation was out of the question here but even still for this moment....even Ashe seemed to giving off a murderous vibe upon learning this information.

"Your leader wants us alive for the moment is that it...? Perhaps to give us an even more gruesome death once we arrive....at the hands of this 'beast' you mentioned...?" Despite what he was saying Ashe returned to his cheery tone of voice in a matter of seconds this time however something about him seemed very much off as he was still giving off that murderous vibe. Ashe still did his best to keep that gun hidden for now.

"Well, whoever's trying to play hide and seek down there, let's go ahead and say hi before they feel inclined to do something... unsavory," Larxene said confidently. The possibility of this situation being a laid-out trap by some unknown enemy was strong, but with the right numbers, the vixen was just as confident that they'd be able to spring the hypothetical trap and put the enemy in their place.

She almost hoped that there would be some hostile force waiting for them down there, watching and waiting, just so she could catch them in the act and take out all her frustration on them. Everyone needed an outlet, after all.

No pun intended.

As all of them got down (Megatron forced to expand the gap somewhat) the group found themselves in a rather spacious sewer with two paths separated by sewage water in the middle. The paths went to both the left and right but the darkness meant that it was hard to see very far.

Trying to figure out where to go they could hear some soft whimpering echoing from the left path. "Is it Matt?" Nadine asked clutching her bow tight.

"Hard to say...but sounds like if we want to find someone we head down that way."

"Haven't you ever heard the phrase, fortune favors the bold, tin man? Do as you will then, if you wanna spring the trap or get past it, but whatever's going on here and whoever's here with us, I wanna say hi to 'em personally," Larxene said to Will, her body surging slightly with electricity. Her body initially surged like this before as they walked through the dark sewage area, to an extent helping to guide the way.

With those words said, Larxene made her choice, heading toward the left path, still sizzling with faint energy as she whistled aloud, as though calling out to whoever might be waiting for her beyond. "Yoo-hoo, anyone home?~"

❝ Tch, so now we have to wait until we get dragged over to your leader to figure out what's next for us. Just perfect. ❞ Nishiki grumbled with an irritated tone. It wasn't like he was annoyed that they got caught, but instead it was turning out to be more annoyed over the fact that this was going to take awhile to get anywhere. He wasn't the patient type for this, not at all.

"Plus there's strength in numbers, robot,"
Ashley responded to Will. "What if the trap's to the left and not the right? You and whoever decides to follow you can do whatever the fuck you like but I'm voting on sticking together." Not waiting to see if Will followed or not Ashley went to the left and whoever else decided to follow.

As Larxene called out see got that same moaning as a response from earlier. Going further in they soon enough found a grate blocking their path from getting further. Despite that though, it seemed like they had found the source of the moaning. Tied up on the grate in front of them was Matt with a really bad looking gash over his abdomen and a piece of cloth over his mouth to gag. "Matt!" Nadine shouted ready to go to her team members rescue before Dhaos gripped her by the shoulder.

"I can understand your wants to rescue a comrade, but in this scenario..." Dhaos gave a grim look as his eyes focused on the trapped Matt. "I believe caution is advised."

"Dhaos is right," Ashley agreed. "Someone left him there, alive for a reason. We need to be careful about this."

Even so Nadine seemed to be struggling against Dhaos' grip, but at the same time she seemed scared out of her mind due to what she was doing.

When Candi heard Larxene call for any others, Candi put a finger to her mouth and glared before whispering. She was not looking for any physical confrontation if she didn't want to get mangled or whatever would happen. "Shush, blondie! You can't just look for a fight without any hope of a plan! That's an easy way to get us all killed, dumbass!" Me especially! Candi added mentally.

"Well, you know what they say. No pain, no gain! It's all a part of the fun of life, after all," Larxene said back to Candi, clearly having different values than her. The black-robed woman was clearly having fun here, as though welcoming, anticipating for someone or something to come out and attack them all. After all, she wasn't so worried about losing.

Larxene didn't believe in losing.

She was hardly perturbed at the otherwise disturbing sight of the maimed Matt once they finally did come across him, her hands poised on her hips as she let out a breath. "Huu... Looks like someone played with him a little too rough. No harm in getting him to tattle though, right?" Larxene spoke recklessly while the others advised caution, marching forward and seeing if she was able to take the cloth gag out of his mouth, and from there, see if he had anything funny to say.

"Maybe, maybe not. We won't know for sure until we get you back to base." The barbarian idly scratched his neck, looking away a moment. Moira nudged Ashe, and then Nishiki, using the brief moment to reveal something she held behind her back: a dagger, which she passed to Akande. I'll be back, she mouthed.

Whoosh.

And in an instant, she had vanished into a datk mist, racing out of the factory.

The barbarian watched her go, chuckling a bit as he did so. "Hmph. Off to get reinforcements, huh? Not like it'll do you any good...but I welcome the challenge. May as well pick off some of your number to be safe." His grin soon turned to a sinister leer. "Consider that net the only thing keeping you alive right now. Anyone else tries to escape, I won't be so merciful."

Seeing as how Larxene seemed to casual, Dhaos decided that if Nadine needed to go so badly he'd let her. Letting go of her arm Nadine rushed past Larxene to look over Matt. "Oh thank God..." She murmured to herself. "He's alive!" She went to unwrap the cloth from his mouth trying to be supportive as she did so. "It's going to be alright, I just need to cut you down and we'll be good to go."

As the cloth came off his mouth Matt coughed wildly as he wheezed out. "It's a tra-"

Before the final word managed to escape his lips Matt and Nadine were consumed by an explosion that sent debris flying into the air and the shockwave knocked Larxene off her feet. While the others in the group were far enough away to be hurt by the blast the cramped spaces and the ensuing explosion caused smoke and debris to fill the area to lower visibility considerably as well as cause a brief loss in hearing.

As everyone tried to catch their barrings they had an intense ringing in their ears and heard muffled screams not unlike if they were underwater. For now the group could only wait for their ears to stop ringing and for visibility to clear before they could do anything.

The sailor immediately put his arms out in front of himself to shield his face as more debris embedded itself into his arms. Most of it was too small to cause any significant damage, but it was annoying nonetheless. "Argh," he grunted in both pain and frustration, closing his eyes. As he heard muffled screams with ringing ears, he was brought back to the familiar scene.

On the ship, sailing green waters. Diving into the mouth of a harpooned beast. The lifeline being cut. The jaw closing. The yelling coming from the crew. Some of them were yelling his name, crying out in worry and shock at the captain's actions. But to Pyke, the screams were unintelligible. He assumed they were either cheering, or more worried about saving their own skins from the jaull-fishes.

Hearing the same unintelligible screams, his fists clenched so hard his fingers nearly broke. He opened his eyes, stubbornly looking around for an enemy to exact revenge on, and waded through the opaque dust to find the source of the screaming.

Pyke and the rest started to feel the ringing subsiding and seeing the source of the screaming. It was Ashley screaming Larxene's ears off. "You son of a bitch! You caused this! If you hadn't gone off like that two of my team would still be alive! And you!" Her anger was now aimed towards Dhaos who was shaking his head to try and get his ears to pop. "Why did you let her go!"

"Because," Dhaos replied half shouting, still clearly haven't gotten his hearing back. "The woman was clearly in distress, I do not know if he was her paramour or what it was but she was intent on getting to him and I was not going to hold her back if she had the skills to help him."

Ashley's gaze went between Larxene and Dhaos for a moment before she lifted her arms in defeat. "Fuuuuuuuck..." She let out a heavy sigh and moved to where the bomb had been set off leaving Dhaos and Larxene to clear their heads.

If anyone chose to follow her it didn't take long for them to see a gory sight. The first body was Nadine's who seemed to have been pelted by shrapnel. It seemed she had died instantly. They could find her bow from a little bit away still intact and she still had her quiver on her back.

Up next was Matt who looked even worse. His body was otherwise intact except for a huge hole in his stomach as he still hung from the grate. "Did...someone show the bomb inside of him?" Ashley murmured aloud to no one in particular. The dust had settled so while some ears might still be ringing the visibility had return to the area.

Before Pyke could admire the speed at which he could travel on the vehicle, he was stuck staring at Medb in contempt. She was like a captain barking orders at her foolishly loyal crewmates. Nevertheless, Slipknot also caught his attention, since he was winding up yet another rope. If Pyke had his harpoon with him, he'd have impaled him before that could happen, but for now, he was stuck as a vulnerable target.

Pyke had never seen anything this spectacular before as they drove through the crashing futuristic buildings. It was breathtaking chaos. Not even Bilgewater, with bombs going off randomly, or ships crashing near the harbor, could compare to this. The buildings were falling a bit faster than he had envisioned, though, and began thinking that he may become gravely injured. Luckily, instead of it being his fate, the buildings did indeed fall on the Riders, a sight that he wasn't quite able to see well because of the dust, but that was good enough for him. "Haha! Dropped 'em like an anchor!" he exclaimed happily.

"Yeah, I'm fine," the sailor responded, despite noticing a few small pieces of shrapnel embedded in his left arm. "I'll walk it off," he continued, shrugging.

"I agree," Pyke added, "Hopefully they got some real weapons I can use for once..."

Dagran looked to the wound, before quietly nodding in understanding. Following along after the sailor and the rest, Dagran felt a bit uneasy about the situation unfolding.

In the end, he had a right to be uneasy. The following explosion causing the ringing in his ears had reignited the occasional headache he had been having. The throbbing causing him to pause and grit his teeth momentarily.

"Son of a-" he hissed softly before taking a moment to let the pain subside, deciding not to finish his sentence.

Once the pain was bearable, Dagran frowned at the sight of Nadine and Matt's bodies. Glancing to Pyke, the mercenary's expression could of been deemed as unreadable for a moment.

"No major injuries?" He asked the sailor, wondering if the other could shake them off. There was some doubt, but he kept that to himself.

As his hearing and vision improved, Pyke realized that there wasn't actually any enemies nearby. It was simply an explosion; there was no ambush. Still, his blood was boiling. The crew had just gone down in number. "Two souls lost..." he muttered. As he stared at Nadine's dead body, he almost felt pity. The woman had felt so much compassion for Matt. Pyke regretted thinking she was just another cold-blooded captain back at the tower. People like her were few and far between. "Whose neck do I gotta wring for this?" he seethed, craving more revenge.

Raising an eyebrow, Pyke responded to Dagran. "I'm alright. Just got some shards in my arms again," he began, checking over them. His eyes squinted, abruptly noticing that some of the small shards had actually drawn some blood this time. Small streams of what looked like slimy water flowed down his flesh and dripped slowly onto the floor. "Hm. Today's not my lucky day. But I've had worse than this. Much worse," he continued, his tone darkening as he remembered his past again.

Turning his attention to Nadine's bow, he pointed to it. "Anybody wanna pick that up? I'd use it myself, but I ain't a bowman." He walked over to her body and crouched down to remove the quiver. Obviously, touching a dead body didn't phase him, as he had done so many times before. He took one arrow for use as a dagger and then left the quiver on the floor for whoever wanted it.

Will looked over at the scene and hated that he was right. He had expected it to be a trap and that's exactly what it was. He had taken a long time, but decided to go left. It seemed that the two were ill-fated and had died. He couldn't take any weapons, but he looked at the ground. " So... it was a trap. I know Matt was taken, but I wanted to know how he got the bomb inside him. .. I hate to be the one to say it, but I think we should go to the right path now and see what we can find." The android didn't really feel sad about the deaths. It wasn't like they could have been stopped. What was done was done.

"Oh, phooey."

BOOM!

Larxene was knocked way past everyone from the explosion's shockwave, slamming into the wall behind. Usually, she would have been on top of such a surprise, but it seemed that ultimately, she reaped what she sowed. Oh, well. The trap was sprung, and that couldn't be helped now, could it? At least, that's what Larxene personally believed, but the others seemed to be more passionate about it.

The ringing was powerful enough to block out most of Ashley's angry rant toward her, but Larxene cared little to hear out what she had to say, stumbling to her feet gingerly. "My fault? Ahaha, please. If not me, then someone else woulda done it, just way more carefully only for it to amount to the same result," she said smugly (at least, as much as she could through her strain), seeming to feel little remorse for the two dead "teammates" on "her" hands now. After all, at the end of the day, they were a bit... expendable, in nicer terms.

Amazingly, despite being at the center of the shockwave, Larxene got off relatively unscratched, no shrapnel or anything managing to pierce her body, though her robes could look a bit better. She shrugged dismissively as Pyke's offer, clicking her teeth softly. "Bows aren't my thing. I like to get... up close and personal," she said with a soft cough, as though still struggling to fully recover from the shock. She briefly thought back to Xigbar for a moment, and how interesting it'd be to have him around. Then again, there was Isa... but with the "Forbidden Actions" in effect, she couldn't have as much fun as she'd like.

Patting herself off, she cleared her throat, her prior interest in the scene almost instantly having disappeared. "So then... Hm, I guess the next chance would be to try and look around for our shy friends?"

"Oh, I'm not shy. I just waited for the perfect time to reveal myself." The group heard a very raspy, male, voice speak to them from the shadows. Instinctively Ashley pulled her bow and aimed an arrow towards where the voice was coming from. "Hehehehe, such theatrics. You think something like that will stop me?" The arrow went flying and disappeared into the darkness only to be tossed back out a few seconds later. "Sloppy sloppy, you really need to work on your aim." The figure cackled.

If the group looked over to Ashley and Bossk they could see that they were actually afraid of this man. "We're all going to fucking die..." Ashley muttered to herself.

Megatron notices Ashley's and Bossk's reactions. It was not from his arrow-catching feat that he inferred that this man was a legitimate threat, but the reactions of his allies.

"Then introduce yourself," Megatron growls, clearly in a bad mood. He had no reason to be intimidated. He instinctively attempted to unveil his retractable blade as he took a single step forward.
