Journey Into the Unknown: A Star Wars RP
Planet: Coruscant
Location: Jedi Temple

Grand Master Thrafner stood in the council room discussing a rescue plan with Masters Trom and Yathyer. Earlier that day the jedi had received an urgent message from Ragern, a planet deep in the Abrion sector, begging for aid and protection from pirates. "We must send them aid, who do you recommend I send?" Thrafner asked the other masters.

"Send Padawans Jandrik and Roshion they have both become strong in their abilities and we could use this opportunity to see how prepared they are to become knights," Master Trom explained.

"As much as I would like to see how far the padawans have come we cannot forget about the people that are in danger. What if the padawans cannot handle the mission? More innocents may die," Master Yathyer explained.

"I have to agree with Yathyer, but I also agree with you Trom. So we shall send knights Setzer and Ferriath with the padawans. I will give the knights orders to sit back and judge the apprentices and only intervene if they believe the padawans will put innocents at risk." Thrafner said.

"If that is your plan maybe I should accompany the padawans, so I can see how ready they are," Yathyer questioned.

"But you have already taught thousands of padawans and know what to look for in future jedi knights. We must give others the chance to learn as we did." Thrafner explained his reasoning. "I must return to teaching, I trust you two can give them their mission?" Thrafner asked leaving the masters.

Trom pulled a comlink off his belt and sent a message to the four jedi telling them to drop what they were doing and report to the mission briefing room immediately. The two masters left the council room and made their way through the jedi temple to the briefing room.

Jandrik Draelyr (Jedi Temple, Coruscant)

Jandrik sat cross-legged on his bed, his eyes closed in concentration. Calmly he held his two hands out slowly. Taking a deep breath, he continued searching for his emotions and clearing them from his head. He had partially succeeded, starting to feel empty and at peace inside when his comlink began to beep. Frustrated, Jandrik tried to ignore the beeping but he was already compromised. He gave up, getting up from his bed and making his way to his desk. His room was small, as was the case with most jedi. He had a single bed set in the corner, a closet set against the other wall and a simple desk with a chair next to it. His desk was clean save a small pocket computer, the beeping comlink, and his lightsaber. He grabbed the lightsaber and look at it with pride. It was his second one, and far harder to build than the first. He remembered how difficult it was to align the small Khyber shards in the hilt to produce the crossguard. A volatile saber for a volatile jedi, He thought with amusement. He hung the blade from his belt and grabbed the comlink.

"This is Jandrik speaking." He stated after pressing a small button on the side. His voice was slightly edgy and cold, despite Jandrik being in a pleasant mood most of the time.

"This is Jedi Master Trom. Meet me in the mission briefing room immediately." Trom said, a sense of urgency evident in his voice.

"Of course master." Jandrik responded. "I will be there shortly." He place the comlink on his belt next to the lightsaber and threw on a dark brown robe over his dull grey combat suit. He checked again to make sure he had everything before closing his door and making his way to the briefing room. Hmm, a meeting in the briefing room? Interesting.

He was the first to arrive, Trom gesturing for him to take a seat. Jandrik nodded and did so as they waited for the rest of the group to arrive.

Roshion Frunger

Roshion balanced atop a tall wooden pole eyes covered and lightsaber in hand. Three Marksmen-H droids circled the young padawan forcing her to use her agility and the force to stay atop the pole well still deflecting the incoming fire. It took Roshion a while, but with the combination of her force senses and skill with a lightsaber she eventually brought the small droids down. Taking off the blindfold Roshion saw that she had missed a communication from her master. Jumping from the pole Roshion grabbed her things and raced out of the training room toward the mission briefing room. Finally another mission, Roshion thought to herself as she raced through the temple hallways, I wonder where they are sending us this time? Roshion reached the briefing room and entered. When she saw Jandrik sitting there she became confused. Is he coming with us? Did Master Trom offer to help teach another padawan? Roshion asked herself taking a sit next to Jandrik and waiting for her master to explain what was happening.

Setzer Branford (Jedi Temple, Coruscant)

Setzer had been looking out at the skyline of coruscant when the call came. He'd been coming out to the balconies of the temple frequently as of late, trying to push his sight further and further each day, he needed to know how far his powers could enhance. His personal training had been interrupted by Master Trom, requesting he head to the mission briefing room immediately, not one to keep masters waiting, Setzer hurried to his destination.

Upon arrival he noticed he wasn't the first to enter the briefing room. He gave a friendly nod to the two padawans, Roshion and Jandrik, and took his seat awaiting Master Trom's instructions. It isn't often that two padawans and a knight who trained under different masters were called together, could this be some sort of test that the master needed my help with? His thought was interrupted by the entrance of a fourth Jedi...

Ferriath Quugh (Shadow Quugh)

Ferriath was asleep on her small bedroll in her tiny dormitory. She was completely at peace when the communicator beeped. She opened her eyes and lifted her upper body off of the bedroll. The communicator fluttered off of the floor next to her and into the air, before turning on as she looked at the message. She was to report to the mission briefing room immediately.

Finally! A mission. It has been too long since they sent me out, though I guess I did go a bit overboard last time. I wonder what kind of Sith artifact I get to track down this time.

She grabbed her cloak off the hook by the door, swinging it around her shoulders and sliding her arms through as the door swished open. She walked at her typical leisurely pace down the hallways toward the briefing room. Passing other Jedi and temple guardians, every now and then providing a head nod of acknowledgment to some acquaintances. As she reached the briefing room, the door swished open and she stepped inside. It seemed as though 3 other Jedi were here. 2 younger Padawans and another knight. She stepped to the side out of the way of the doorway and leaned against the wall.

Hmmm. So 3 other Jedi, including 2 padawans. Please tell me I'm not playing babysitter on this mission. Why would they bring in a shadow sentinel to work with a couple padawans and another knight?

Master Trom

"Thank for all coming on such short notice. Master Thrafner has assigned you to a protection mission of the planet Ragern," Master Trom started the briefing, "From what we can gather a band of pirates have attacked the planet and taken many prisoners. We have little information on what the pirates are after or how deadly they are, so caution will be needed. Master Thrafner has instructed that Jandrik and Roshion be allowed to lead and complete the mission how they see fit. Master Thrafner has chosen you two to judge the padawans performance and make sure they do not put the people of Ragern at risk. You are to follow the padawans and observe you will not help them or give them advice unless you need to," Trom explained pointing at Setzer and Ferriath, "We are putting a lot of faith in all of you. This mission will determine many things when it comes to all of your futures. If you have any questions I will try my best to answer them, but time is of great importance," Trom finished, waiting to answer any questions.

Jandrik Draelyr (Jedi Temple, Coruscant)

Jandrik stood immediately. "Master, I don't think I'm ready for something like this. I still do not have full control over the force." He paused a moment before adding, "What happens if I accidentally put someone at risk because I couldn't control myself?"

Master Trom:

Master Trom had heard about Jandrik and how he struggled to control his force powers, but he knew the padawan was stronger then most believed him to be and he also knew that time was not on the padawan's side soon he would be asked to become a knight or worse leave the order and become a jedi healer or farmer. "At some point we all must leap into the unknown and find ourselves. I trust you can and will do your best to save the people of Ragern when the time comes. Plus you will always have your brothers and sisters to help you if you get lost." Master Trom explained.

Ferriath Quugh (Shadow Quugh)
Ferriath kept silent during the Master's explanation. Some of the things weren't adding up to her. Great. I'm going on a glorified babysitting mission. I guess I'm getting to that point in my career, though. She stepped forward towards the center of the room before speaking. "If you put the planet's inhabitants in danger, then we will step in and handle things. Do not worry. You will only put a cap on your abilities. If you have doubts, you will most certainly fail. If you believe you can do it, then you will indeed do it. If you don't think you can do it, then you will fail." She said to the padawan.

She then turned to the Master and asked the questions on her mind. "Master Trom, I have a few questions. How are the padawans going to get to the Ragern system? Will they be given starfighters for the mission? On a more a personal note...why is a shadow needed for such a mission? With the war, there must be sith artifacts that need to be found?" Instead of being sent on a glorified babysitting mission. She thought to herself after she had finished speaking.

Master Trom:

"You will use a jedi transport to get to Ragern. As for why you have been chosen I do not know. Master Thrafner chose you himself, so I reckon he probably has a reason." Master Trom replied to Ferriath.

Roshion Frunger:

Finally, Roshion thought to herself letting a small smile cross her face. She didn't have any questions and thought that the others were just wasting time, the people of Ragern might not have. She wanted to say something to get them going, but she stayed silent as to not interrupt Master Trom.

Setzer Branford

Setzer remained quiet and attentive throughout the meeting, taking time to observe the auras of his teammates as a way to asses where their current mood is at. He'd already assumed Jandrik's aura from the boys apprehension but it was confirmed through the orange aura emanating, the aura of confliction, whether that conflict is between the light side and the dark, or whether one's skills are ready or not, his heart is divided, he'll need to be observed closely

Roshion surprised him, the yellow aura proclaimed her excitement, he could feel the girls desire to prove herself, but with that excitement comes rashness, he'll be sure to warn her to stay cautious. Finally there was the wild card, Ferriath. He'd never had a chance to become acquainted with the woman but he knew of her reputation, her combat skills were impressive but her ideals never seemed to align with the teachings of the order, and from the violet aura radiating from her, the aura of apathy, he could tell she thinks this is a waste of time, which could prove problematic.

Finally Setzer stood up, "We won't let you and Master Thrafner down. If that's all we need to know then I suggest we depart, the longer we wait the more lives are being lost to those pirates."

Ferriath Quugh
She respectfully bowed to Master Trom before turning to the team she would be working with. "Since I am to not interfere unless things get mucked up, I'll stick to the shadows. You won't see me or hear from me unless I need to speak with you. You probably won't even be able to feel me through the force, but I will be there watching over you."

She then turned and walked out of the room. She had everything she would already do she headed towards the ha her and her redshift star fighter. The Master may have said they were taking a Jedi transport, but he didn't order her to board the transport. Plus, if these pirates controlled the system, they wouldn't mind attacking a transport. They needed an escort.

She entered the hanger and approached her fighter. She signaled to the flight crew to. When preparing for launch. A droid soon rolled across the hanger and was locked into the slot in the fighter. She climbed up the stairs and hopped into the cockpit. She put her interface on and waited for the flight crew to give her the thumbs up.

Setzer Branford

As Ferriath walked out of the room, Setzer bowed to master Trom and indicated for the Padawans to follow him. As he escorted them to the hanger he said "You two needn't worry, you've had excellent teachers, and are strong in the force, I'll be overseeing you from a distance as well. Trust in the force and you may find yourselves knighted soon." If he had eyes he would've winked then, but could only give the two a reassuring smile as they entered the hanger and began boarding their transport.

Jandrik Draelyr (Jedi Temple, Coruscant)

Jandrik followed Setzer obediently, wearing his hood low over his head. He nodded in acknoledgment of the Jedi Knight's kind words but said nothing, merely taking his seat and waiting for the shuttle to take off. He examined his lightsaber, making sure everything was in the right place. The crossguard often proved disastrous if not aligned properly, and he was careful not to disassemble too much of the saber to double check. Satisfied with his latest work, he reassembled the small bits he had removed and put the lightsaber back on his belt. He began to practice a lesser form of meditation. Not enough to purge his body and become one with the force, but just enough to help clear his head a little. He found it easier to clear his mind if he focused his fears into a single ball of emotion, and then hide it away deep within his mind. It was a strange trick, and he was unsure if anyone else used it, but it worked for him.

Roshion Frunger:

Roshion started to follow the others, but stopped at the door, when her Master called to her. "Yes master?" Roshion asked.

"May the force be with you," Trom replied with a smile.

Roshion smiled back at her master and replied, "and also with you." Roshion raced out of the room and caught up with the others. She listened to the knights advice and then climbed in the transport after Jandrik. Seeing that Jandrik didn't seem to want to fly Roshion climbed into the pilot sit and started the ship up. After getting the ship safely and into hyperspace Roshion turned to Jandrik and asked, "so, you got any ideas on how to best complete the mission?"

Jandrik Draelyr (Jedi Transport, Hyperspace)

He thought for a moment before answering. "We need to gather more information before we can make a plan." He paused a moment. "Should any innocents need our aid immediately, then we will provide assistance as needed." He stretched, cracking his knuckles. "But it's best if we can observe as much as possible before making any rash decisions." Quite ironic for me to be saying that, he added in his head, but kept that little bit to himself.

Roshion Frunger:

"I agree, but how are we supposed to get close enough to observe them in a jedi transport? I think we need to figure out a way to get to the planet without them actual knowing we did. Maybe we could make ourselves look like a good target to rob and them being pirates and all would attack and bord us. When they do we would be ready and could either fight them for control of their ship or sneak aboard while they go through our ship, depending on how big a ship they send, either way we would be able to get to the planet without them knowing. What do you think?" Roashion asked.

Setzer Branford

Watching the Padawans try and plan was cute and reminded Setzer of his own trials when he was their age. The prospect of using the ship as bait was concerning though so he stepped in for just a moment. "My one caution is not to use our one ship as bait, especially considering that I'm in here and may need to defend myself if that happens. Do what you like, but let me evacuate first so as to minimize interference."

Jandrik Draelyr (Jedi Transport, Hyperspace)

"Well, the bait plan could work." He mused, tapping his foot against the floor. "Though if we could stay in the system for as long as possible without alerting the pirates of our location would be ideal." He shrugged, not knowing which path to take. "Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. We can proceed with the bait plan if you re one-hundred percent sure we can pull it off."

Roshion Frunger:

"I think it will work and plus if it works we can look through their computers and find out some information that way, I am not going to say I am one-hundred percent sure, but I think we can pull it off," Roshion replied then turned to Setzer, "I don't know how we can evacuate you, but you could hide somewhere on the ship and wait for us."
