Will didn't need to actually SEE Jiren to know which was the right one.

His little magic trick may have worked before, but all she needed was his spiritual vital signs to know who was the true Jiren. She had to admit, he was creative if not stubborn. In fact, he reminded Will of herself a bit.

No doubt he had his own crazy repitore of fancy blasts and attacks. Will just had to fight him off long enough to knock some sense into him. She doubted talking would do the trick, but she did feel a little burst of pride at finally having a worthy opponent to fight.

Will waited until Jiren had stopped making his clones to gather a large ball of pink ki energy and used her hands to blast it forth in a dome style burst attack, obliterating the wind trap and blowing all of Jiren's clones backwards and every which way.

"You underestimate us, Jiren. Humans are flawed, yes. We kill each other for the most trivial of reasons, we poison our own planet. We even kill our young before they are born. But above all else, we know how to love. We value life and the preservation of freedom!"
"Hypocrisy"

Jiren snapped, letting his after images fade away again.

"You see the truth, then? Can you see the threat of unrestrained freedom? Can you understand the true Zero of this equation? You fight for freedom. You overthrow evil. Yet you let it rise up again. You fail to trigger the final solution. This is our chance to fix it all. Every mistake. Every fault. We can create a world without evil- a world of justice. You know I'm right. You'll come to your senses soon enoug--"
Jotaro Kujo arrived at the downstairs area, coolly striding in with his hat tilted down. He glanced up at the commotion going on with Jiren, sneering and moving his hand his hat, tilting it upwards. "Good grief. . .this is going to be annoying."

Without breaking stride, the man's finger left his pocket and was now pointed to the man who he was looking for - a priest adorned in a purple coat. No words shared between the two, though Pucci would get a good look at the towering man in white, possibly realizing who he was. That realization wouldn't do him any good, however. It would do nothing to halt Jotaro Kujo's arrival.

"Star Platinum: The World."

As Jotaro calmly uttered the true name of his Stand, it emerged from his body, wreathed in a golden light before crossing its arms across its chest in an 'X' pattern. The jewel adorning Star Platinum's 'crown' suddenly shimmered for a half-second before the world surrounding Jotaro suddenly lost all color. The shrieking noise emanating from the jewel signaled every moving thing surrounding the man to completely halt all at once. Projectiles froze in the air, the clenched-teeth expression of battle frozen on the face of Jiren and his former allies. Jotaro saw the world before him slow down to a complete stop, and with Aoko Aozaki not here. . .it was clear only to him what had just occurred.

"Time has stopped." Jotaro's voice echoed through his little world, though only he could hear it.

The man shot forward, knowing he only had a few seconds to spare before time would resume again. Sliding past the frozen statues that were the other allies of his on this mission, Jotaro planted his feet in front of Enrico Pucci, allowing Star Platinum to phase through his body and face the priest, who was still frozen in place and unaware of Jotaro's presence.

ORA!

CRRACK

There goes one hand, his fingers bending backwards with a sickening crack.

ORA!

SNAAAP

There goes the other.

"Hoo. . ."

Star Platinum roared with fury as it unleashed a vicious pummeling onto the frozen Pucci, shattering bones across his body as the Stand's rapid-fire fists smashed into his body like cannonballs, threatening to completely impale him if Jotaro wasn't controlling the distribution of Star Platinum's power. Pucci couldn't react to the brief onslaught, his face completely frozen in his glowering expression as craters were spread across his wracked body. This happened in the span of two seconds, and once it was done, Star Platinum swiftly vanished into nothingness, allowing Jotaro to hold his hat and sigh.

"Time has begun to move again."

Suddenly, for everyone else in the room, the sound of Pucci suddenly being blown away by a single, destructive force could be heard, and those who look would find Jotaro Kujo standing where Pucci stood, clutching his coat and watching silently as he sent the priest flying to the opposite side of the room, or possibly flying directly into Max's projectiles.

"Bite your tongue! You know nothing! Do not speak of DIO in that manner; you would provide little more to him than a sacrifice to sustain him," Pucci growled at Severa, having had enough of the girl's attitude. "... Perhaps not even by that much with that lacking body."

When Max unleashed another strange monster that he seemed to have at his beck and call, Pucci commanded C-Moon to punch out the energy blasts from the old man's blaster, but opted to dodge the monster's bigger energy ray. Perhaps it was a bit of a silly image, for a man in a priest's robe to take such physical action like that, but in the heat of the moment, he seemed more than capable of moving like any other man.

From there, C-Moon dashed straight toward the monster, delivering a hard punch right at its chest! As it connected, in a grotesque fashion befitting the monster's appearance, its chest contorted violently and swirled in of itself, as though it had turned inside out.

Because that was precisely what had happened. C-Moon used its power to turn the monster's innards inside out to squash the inside of its body and kill it.

However, if nothing else, it seemed that the monster provided an apt distraction for Sorey to move in and perform his own attack, if only barely, as C-Moon was just barely able to dash back and evade the brunt of the lightning attack, a small graze becoming visible on the Stand's body, and in turn, Pucci's robe being cut once more. In retaliation, C-Moon raised its hand and began moving, as if to strike Sorey, perhaps with the same ability it had used to instantly kill the monster Max had unleashed, and then...

Time had stopped.

With the intervention of Jotaro, suddenly Pucci's body was propelled back once again, forced against the wall where he was practically trapped. He was battered and could hardly move, bruised and beaten to a pulp. Still, he amazingly remained conscious, his body seeming to be rather hardy for a "normal" man, if one could even call him that. Of course, if he was with the Revanchist, who knew what they could have shot him up with?

With a sickly sound that sounded like an uncomfortable cross between a laugh and a cough, Pucci glared at Jotaro, grunting laboredly as he struggled to get back on his feet. "So... You are the one who defied DIO all that time ago... It truly is the same kind of Stand as The World, but not quite!" He grunted, maintaining his gaze at the taller man while C-Moon floated back next to Pucci, "You won't interfere with the dawn of destiny! No matter what you do, your actions will be for naught."

Jiren felt the air come to a gradual halt around him. The clouds failed to move. The book covers failed to flail. The world around him ceased to be in motion. Around him, even color seemed to lose its vigor, with light no longer being separated or reflected against the stagnant molecules that barely bade up the distorted matter. There was only one explanation:

"A Time-Skip? Interesting"

Jiren felt his body drift slowly through the frozen time, sludgily parting the frozen molecules. Every movement felt as if it came with the baggage of moving through swamp water. Every muscle twist seemed to come hand in hand with a strange, familiar lagging. It wasn't the first time he had been removed from linear time. He hoped it would be his last.

"So this was a distraction after all..."

By the time Jiren left the world of Mid-Time, he returned to his guard. There was no way of telling how long time had been frozen for. Had it been a second? An hour? A day? Or were such things irrelvant in a world were the earth no longer turned? All he knew was that someone back in the librairy possed some form of time control that could rival that of even the Master Assassin. Could it have been Pucci? One of the others? Without know who or where the user was, he had little hope of finding them on the frozen plain. Whether it had been used by or against his old ally, he knew that a battle must have been taking place. Once again, time was of the essence, and he had let several clues slip through the cracks.

@Downstairs

Schala nodded towards Sorey, she too having realized that they couldn't talk Jiren out of the choice he made. In his eyes, his decision was the "right" one, just like in their eyes, their decision to oppose Pucci was. In addition, she shook off her initial notions about this being an illusion; she wasn't quite thinking straight in the heat of the moment... And instead, focused her attention on her main goal here.

"Jiren... I've experienced the tranquility the 'grey' can offer... I understand your cause... But... I cannot back down... Not for you... Not for Pucci. My home now, after all... Is with the Coalition. I have no place left in my home world... Not anymore..." She said, a wistfull smile on her face.

Then, seeing as Jiren, and Pucci were both wrapped up in their own battles, she decided to try and strike at both...

First... She concentrated, closing her eyes as she mouthed ancient... Arcane words under her breath, causing a sudden, detonation of dark magic underneath Pucci's feet, hopefully. She wasn't sure if it would have the same effect as her luminaire spell, as this one was a bit weaker (she needed to cast two spells, in a short amount of time, after all)... But with any luck, it would at least serve as ample distraction against Pucci, so Jotaro might gain some kind of advantage. She did take what Leivinia said to heart, and decided to try something explosive on Pucci again, hoping to at least score a hard enough hit to draw his attention for now.

Whispering something along the lines of 'Good luck' towards the latter... She then turned her attention to Jiren.

Taking a great risk, she bolted somewhere into the middle of the chaos created by Will's attempts to scatter the various copies of Jiren now. Trying to get to the very center of the storm, closing her eyes as she concentrated again, and though she was muttering a series of arcane words under her breath, nothing could be heard within the windstorm still going.

The results of her spell though were quite noticeable when her body seemed to become a conduit for some kind of holy lightning... And (somewhat unexpectedly), blending together with the windstorm Will created... Causing something akin to a lightning storm, with arcs of lightning shooting back and forth, aiming for each of the Jiren copies.

In the end though... Schala could only maintain this for so long... And would need to think of a good escape plan before disaster struck... But, ontop of that, she kept an eye on Sorey, as he had jumped into the fray just before all of this chaos occurred from Will and Jiren (and Max) fighting each other. Having more control over her magic this time, she was at least able to avoid friendly fire with her arcs of holy lightning... For as long as she could sustain her spell anyways...
Jiren roared as volt after volt of enchanted lightning burned through his veins, exploiting his lack of awareness. He felt each muscle spasm and contract under the strain of the assault, forcing his jaw to slam shut and lock into place.

Interesting he thought to himself perhaps they are finally starting to coordinate.

No Matter

Wrestling back control of his one body, Jiren made another sharp ariel turn, charging back towards the floor like a missile. He opened his ki shield yet again, straining it to its very limits. Even without the lighting burning within him, his jaw remained clenched, this time out of focus as opposed to pain. A roll to the left protected him from the next chain of lightning. A diagonal right roll helped him avoid the next. The centremost arch burned deep into his shield, yet crackled off over his shoulder before it could send him into lockdown again.

"You're all learning it seems... good. But striking together is holding each of you back individually. You're letting each other down"

Returning the library like a meteor, Jiren slammed into the floorboards, sending shockwaves across the room strong enough to displace the few remaining books.

"You don't need a home, child" Jiren hummed, rising to his feet again and letting his arms hang free. He knew what it was like to be displaced. To be alone. He had turned such a situation into his greatest strength. Perhaps one day soon, Schala would learn to do the same. But once upon a time, he needed a cause of his own. A group to fight alongside to teach him what it meant to fight alone. Perhaps he could offer Schala the same "You need a Tribe. Someone to teach you the path of solitude. We're preparing for a perfect world, and once we achieve it, you can remake your homeworld into anything you desire. All you need do... is join us"
"Jiren?" Ben was in disbelief. "Well, there's no one else among us who looks like him, maybe except me... so much for justice. Don't worry Libra, I'll give him a good butt-kicking - after we deal with Othinus."

Ben continued forward.

As Chise healed him, Libra smiled at the girl, head now clear. "Thank you, Chise. Let's be off!"

As they started off for Othinus, Libra attempted to use his ear piece. "Hello? Do I just talk into this, and they'll hear me?" Having been active within the Coalition, he had gotten better with technology...somewhat. This device was a new one for him. May as well give it a try.... "Ahem. Hello, Miss Kirigiri. This is Libra. I'm afraid Othinus had a trap ready for us and was using DIO and Pucci as a distraction for...something. I am unsure of what, however. I've no idea what's been happening downstairs, but Jiren turning on us is deeply troubling. I do hope they can lead him back to the right path..."

"Jiren..." Toppo spoke with shallow breaths and broken eyes "What is this talk of Jiren? No... he'd... no" He felt his strength leave his body. It was impossible. It couldn't be true. After all the years he had spent searching for him. After all those years of Ash, fighting for his life all so he could earn a rumor or two. All those years training with the OMDA, fighting fight after fight for the promise of a reunion... It had all been a waste. He knew that Jiren had changed since he fled Universe 11, but even he could stomach the thought of his betrayal. "He'd never turn his back on justice! He couldn't... No... Not to me!" A pounded the floor with all the strength he could muster "You lie! " He screamed at Libra "Jiren is a good man! He's my friend! He would..." The spark in his voice burned down to a cinder "He was my friend..."

Libra frowned, not upset or offended by the outburst of Toppo's emotions. Putting a hand on the man's shoulder, Libra spoke in a soft voice, as to comfort him. Betrayal stung the same as grief.

"I understand it's...almost impossible to believe," Libra said. "I really do not understand it, myself. Perhaps he has a reason? You might be able to go talk sense into him, if you are friends."

"You people are the goddamn worst..."

Magic? Gods? All this convoluted bullshit about the multiverse and its workings? None of it made a damn difference to Diego, who approached his alternative son from behind, lightly bonking the younger blonde on the back of his head with a knuckle.

As he spoke, it was clear that something was happening to Giorno. Will considered Jiren's words. She knew he had been right. About letting evil go unchecked. About not finding that one solution. But, he wasn't right about evrything. Clearly he had been hurt somewhere, sometime in his life. He preached about justice and wanting to find freedom, yet he himself was imprisoned.

Sad.

The Keeper figured he wouldn't want to isolate himself only to her for long. Clearly, he was smart enough to know that she was trying to seperate the two men.

Will charged her hands up with Quintessence and fired down the same way she came up, attempting to barrel into Jiren and destroy his shield of ki.

Still, even as Leivinia, Sorey, and Jotaro applied pressure to Pucci while the others concerned themselves with Jiren, the priest still did not make a single further move to directly harm them, at least not after C-Moon had initially moved to punch Sorey before Jotaro's time-defying power gave himself a dramatic entrance. Pucci continued to remain where he was, even as flames spewed dangerously toward him, all the while Jiren appeared in front of them all again.

As soon as the defector appeared once again, Pucci swiftly drew what appeared to be a control pad from his pocket, similar to the Return Pads that Doppo had given everyone back at Knowhere. Looking intently at Jiren from behind, the priest spoke. "They've made their choice, I'm afraid. If they choose to remain ignorant like this, then it cannot be helped. I will show them the power of Heaven firsthand soon enough!" He exclaimed, before glaring at everyone else, "You'll see. You will all see soon enough. Once I obtain the Arrow..."

FSSSSH!

As he pressed his pad, Pucci's and Jiren's bodies suddenly dematerialized into thin air. The two of them had abruptly vanished without a trace, to God only knew where, Leivinia's flames unfortunately hitting empty space now.

As the scene had ended abruptly, Ollerus let out an exasperated breath, looking to everyone. "Ah, lovely. Not even an hour into the mission and we've already been had," he sighed, scratching his head in mild irritation, "But worry not. I'm sure that we will be seeing those two again very soon; this war is only just beginning, after all."

"Come in! Anyone, come in!" Kyoko's voice suddenly rang from the communications network.

"Eh? Kirigiri? What is it?" Touma inquired curiously, wondering what was the cause for the sudden urgency in her voice.

"The others managed to run into Othinus! Right at the spot where you first appeared! If you rush now, you might be able to overwhelm her!" Kyoko exclaimed.

"What?! If she's showing herself so brazenly...!" Ollerus exclaimed in concern, wasting no time in running back to where everyone had once came from. Even though they were all here looking for her in the first place, it appeared that for some reason, Ollerus was deeply concerned now that it was actually happening, as though... he thought it was too easy.

"W-Wait up, Ollerus!" Touma yelled, beginning to run after him, glancing briefly back at everyone else, "Come on, let's go!"

Phil Connors

Phil stared at Jiren for a brief moment before he took a deep breath. " You can't create a world without evil. It wouldn't work. In order to do that, you would have to take a person's free will to choose for themselves. A loop that kept replaying over and over as these people made the same choices because it's the only ones they know. If anyone deviant from the norm, it would just recreate it. We need the light just as much as the darkness. One can't exist without the other. What would happiness be without sadness? Nothing. Of course, you can try to destroy and remake the world, but eventually the same problems will arise. Nobody wants to live in a world where they have no choice on what happens to them. Being a good person or being evil as simple as a switch. It takes fucking years to do. And who are you to take a person's right to choose? Just because it seems right in the moment in the long run. Jiren, if you look at yourself, one day and regret what you see, would you believe your justice? ….And he's gone," Phil sighed. Maybe he shouldn't have taken forever to come up with a good speech. He went upstairs to see what was with Othinus.

Rita looked at the others and had accepted Chise's healing earlier. " I'm with Libra. I have no clue what you are talking about." Rita honestly didn't remember most of the mission details.

Giorno didn't react to his father's scolding, as the words that left his mouth were more to him than just mere condescending monologues. They are words that need to be said - they act as a reminder to his enemy, of sorts. However, as soon as the sudden bonking to the back of his head occurred, Giorno turned around to face his father.

"That wasn't I meant-- . . .huh?"

tumblr_nr1w8n9d2Q1tc1kmmo7_250.png

Giorno's eyes visibly dilated as the diluted version of the Scary Monsters Virus intruded upon his veins, swirling about his senses and cranking them up to eleven, all at once. The world around the boy suddenly became sharper and more define, his nose began picking up scents far beyond this room and his ears perked up at the sound of churning vibrations coming from the floors beneath them. The mutual trust he had with his other-father was enough to tip the mafioso off at what had just occurred.

That didn't distract from the pattern of the vibrations touching his enhanced ears. The sound of rushing feet was getting closer. . .rising from beneath them.

Father, do you hear that. . .? Giorno's inner voice called out across the mental link, as he knew Diego could hear his thoughts via Scary Monsters. There's someone rushing upstairs. Multiple people. . .it could be allies, or it could be Othinus' backup. If Othinus planning something, I can't use the Arrow just yet.

Giorno Giovanna heeded Diego's advice, deciding not to share anymore words with his enemy and instead choosing to shoot. Gold Experience suddenly bolted forward towards Othinus, looking as if it was going for a direct attack on her - however, the Stand stopped short by a few feet, directing it's glimmering fists towards the floor directly in front of the Magic God.

With a blazing rush of punches that now rivaled Star Platinum and The World in terms of speed, Gold Experience lashed out at the stone floor, roaring "MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA!" as it went. The blonde-haired boy grabbed whoever stood between himself and his Stand, yanking them back toward the group and away from the shattered crater that Gold Experience dug in front of Othinus. Before the Magic God could even retaliate against the Stand presented before her, Gold Experience vanished in a flash of light, leaving the Life it created to burst from the crater.

Once again, dinosaurs.

A whole new squadron of fully-sized velociraptors suddenly leapt from the darkness of the crater, clawing their way out of the rubble in a single horde. A bit of a makeshift use of Gold Experience's life-giving ability, but any solid object can be used, including mere debris. It seemed as if these raptors came out faster than the ones that mauled DIO, and they were certainly more visibly evolved.

The combination of commands coming from Diego and Giorno once again formed a wall of Jurassic soldiers between the rest of the group and Othinus. The boy stood next to his father, sporting a soft and confident smirk that contrasted with Diego's wicked, gnarly grin. Though the Virus couldn't take away Giorno's human intelligence, he could feel his teeth ever-so-slightly sharpening beneath his lips as he smirked.

"Ugh...is NO ONE gonna tell me what happened? Whatever! Let's go take Othinus down." Severa rushed upstairs, glaring at the girl. Wait...THIS was who they were up against? Some half-pint with no pants? Severa was going to have a field day with this one...

Until Giorno did...that.

Huh.

Well, at least now she could focus on something that'd been bugging her a while... "Hey! Has anyone seen a woman here named Cordelia? I need to talk to her!"

Leivinia was temporarily stunned silent as Pucci suddenly flew across the room. She had no idea what had caused that. She'd had absolutely no way of sensing it. All she understood was that the huge guy with the coat had done something. Whatever he'd done, it was fortunate that Jotaro Kujo was on their side.

Things were looking good relatively speaking. Jiren had defected, but he was being held off and Pucci was still being pressured. The way things were going, it even seemed as though Jotaro alone could take the priest down. However, Leivinia wasn't the type to stand around doing nothing.

"You can tell us it's for naught all you want, but it's pretty pointless when you're just getting in worse and worse condition."

Spinning her wand around once like a baton, a torrent of flames began to spew forth from it. They began to grow into a scorching flame that advanced upon the cornered Pucci.

"So let's see just how for naught it all is, shall we?"

You'll come to your senses soon enoug--"

images

All you need do... is join us"

"Toppo, Toppo my friend, calm down," Refrigerator said. Ben assuming a form that was pretty much Frieza with different colours didn't help. "There's something up here, that's why you need to stand strong, to dig deep for the truth. I will dig with you. If Jiren has lost his way, we'll guide him back- and we will require you the most for this task."

Turning back to Othinus, he adds, "you have some rather slimy lackies, to steal people from our numbers and get them to join your little tea party clubhouse? Now I have two reasons to deal with you!"

Refrigerator continued his Arctic Circle assault on Othinus...

"50-50, that's your ability, that means at least a one of my little toys will give you excruciating pain. But it's nothing compared to the pain of betrayal. Ohohohoho~

Sorry if I'm being a bit to vicious today, young lady. Do not blame me, blame this DNA - DNA sourced from a certain universe's most cruel dictator himself!"

He said the last part with a sadistic, villainous grin as the final act of his assault had all the discs stop randomly flying about, but rather, converge on Othinus' position from all different angles!

Schala Zeal
@Ver @Crow @Yun Lee @Takumi @Atomic Knight @CrunchyCHEEZIT @Space_Candy @Jeremi @Lucky @Cromartous
@Downstairs (Going Upstairs/To Othinus)

There was this look of longing in Schala's eyes for a moment... In truth, she sometimes wondered if it was better she had stayed in that void after Lavos had been destroyed for good.

But... At the same time, in there... She had always felt restless, angry... At herself... Feeling like a coward for hiding there while there was still so much to do in the Multiverse. People to help, disasters to avert... And perhaps... A purpose for her.

What Jiren proposed was a way to both have a purpose, and peace, once and for all... Which was most certainly a tempting promise in of itself, but even if it could be achieved, even if Pucci and the others did succeed, she reminded herself of the consequences of this. The thing that she swore to protect with her own life; joy, happiness, love... Humanity.

As peacefull as she herself may be in a void only filled with in an endless grey, it pained her to imagine the entire multiverse life that.

And perhaps, deep down... She had grown attached to the very concept of feeling... Both good and bad. So much so that she would forego her own, eternal peace to keep them...

Tears welled in her eyes as she shook her head.

"I cannot accept this offer... I do not wish to deprive the multiverse of what they have... For our own tranquility." She said quietly.

However, before she could say more... Pucci had interrupted her, proclaiming he would show them all the power of heaven, before Jiren and him were transported away.

Quietly, she spoke again, as if Jiren was still there. Perhaps this was less for him now... More for herself.

"Sometimes... I wonder why I'm so attached my... No... Our humanity... The feelings we feel... Our joy... Our pain... Our love... Our hate. Even now, I can't give an answer that will satisfy me... But... Despite knowing the peace the lack of such feelings can bring... I can no longer bear the thought of living without them..." She whispered quietly, a ruefull smile on her face.

In the end... Her greatest reason for opposing Pucci she had... When attempting to express her feelings on what Pucci had planned, was the promise she had made. It seemed like so long ago since she had vowed to protect the eternal dream of life, perhaps best translated to the state of being... And in a way, it was the very essense of humanity.

It was a promise she had made herself, so to speak... Before she left the world she no longer belonged in, and sought out the Coalition... Her only semblance of a 'home' she had left.

Eventually, when Kyoko came over their communications, she was jolted into action... Realizing that they had a chance at putting an end to Othinus' plans, and perhaps by extention, what Pucci was planning as well before it was too late. Though on their way upstairs, Schala stopped beside Toppo, who seemed rather torn up with what had happened with Jiren, trying to comfort him.

"I-... No... We... Will try our best to bring him back. I promise..." She said, trying to sound as confident as she could.

Her gaze flitted to where Kyoko had mentioned Othinus was; back where they started, as a determined look crossed her face.

"But first, let's stop Othinus. After that, we'll find Pucci, and Jiren." She added, attempting to give Toppo a reassuring smile.

It looks like she had her goals set now... But yet, she still wasn't always sure why she was so committed to her cause sometimes, at least... Not all the time.

"Hmph."

Leivinia huffed as Pucci and Jiren got away. She was clearly annoyed, but the news of Othinus's appearance now commanded her attention. Like Ollerus, she had her suspicions. They had obviously been baited in, but then why would Othinus make herself known? There had to be some sort of reason behind it. Some goal. Unfortunately, she couldn't think exactly of what it was, nor did she have much time to ponder it.

"I don't know what she's doing, but let's seize this opportunity!"

She moved and took off with the others in pursuit of Othinus.

As the group from downstairs followed Ollerus back home, the entire gang was back together now, united once more as everyone caught sight of Othinus, opposing everyone else from the other side of the room.

"Fiamma! Where did she come from?!" Ollerus exclaimed to his ally.

"She was waiting for us; we found DIO just upstairs but she interfered and he escaped. This was a meticulously planned strategy, but for what purpose, I have no idea."

As Ben and Giorno attacked Othinus quickly, the blasts shot by the former and the attacking dinosaurs causing her to reel back and crash into the wall behind her with a great big thud that shook the entire mansion, her body easily became bruised and battered, surprisingly so for someone who called herself a Magic God. Weakly, she looked to everyone. "What...? Woe... Woe is me! For I have been felled so easily...!" She cried out in a lamenting tone.

And then, suddenly, a bizarre voice rang out behind everyone.

"Was that the result you truly expected?"

"What the--?!" Touma exclaimed, looking back to the source of the voice that sounded just like Othinus's, only to find that Othinus herself was suddenly standing on the other side of the room now, completely fine and without consequence. On the other hand, the other "Othinus" who was brutally battered by Giorno and Ben was nowhere in sight, as was the crater in the wall, almost as though she had disappeared. Or that kind of Othinus never existed to begin with.

A trick of the eyes, a trick of the mind. An illusion of trickery. The attacks never reached Othinus at all. She was always somewhere else entirely.

344230.jpg

"As I said, these small fights are a bother. All this jumping, the yelling... It's all so exhausting on the mind. But if you want to wrestle with me for the possession of the handle of Gungnir... You'll have to catch me first," Othinus said, still with that eerily calm expression in her voice.

FWWSH!

With that, her form suddenly disappeared at will once again, this time with a small flash of light, just like how DIO, Pucci, and Jiren had disappeared before. Clicking his tongue in frustration, Fiamma of the Right wasted no time in trying to track the Magic God's movements, his right hand once again glowing a deep shade of crimson as he tried tracking her using the same mysterious method that he did back when everyone was at Knowhere.

"That wench won't get away so easily...! Give me just a moment, I'll track her down in no time!" Fiamma of the Right exclaimed, gritting his teeth as he began attempting to direct the next course to go to.

"Ben, everyone, are you alright?"

"I am, but I don't think everyone is. Jiren... the one Toppo speaks so highly of, a supposed pursuer of justice, gone like that? Why would he betray us, or his concept of justice?"

"He betrayed us, but not justice itself, at least, not from his point of view. I hate to say this to you or anyone for that matter, but justice isn't a black and white concept. There are many points of view, some of which that we may view as sick & twisted. Justice is a fickle topic that comes in too many shapes to count."

"Like how some bad guys call their actions justice?"

"I don't think Jiren is that black and white. I'm not ready to call him a bad guy or a villain yet. But yes, Ben, Jiren believes that the choice he made was the right one."

"Jiren the Grey..."

"We can only hope Jiren knows what he's doing, that is, until we meet him again very soon."

Schala Zeal

@Downstairs (Going Upstairs/To Othinus)

"Hmph... maybe you're right..." Toppo wheezed every word, his speech restained by the wrapping of a heavy heart "I've... wasted enough time as it is. The seconds wasted one me... have been seconds Evil has prospered... In Jiren's memory, I can't hold back. I won't hold back. They won't escape with their lives... not again"
"What the- how is that possible?" Refrigerator gritted his teeth. "OOOOOOTHINUUUUUUS!"

The Omnitrix emblem on his chest beeped as a flash of green light enveloped him, turning the frost demon back into plain old Ben.

@Ver @Crow @Yun Lee @Takumi @Atomic Knight @CrunchyCHEEZIT @Space_Candy @Jeremi @Lucky @ChasingOthinus

"You're welcome, Libra." Chise nodded, before her and Ruth went ahead and followed the Priest to find Othinus.

"Flawed motives or no, their numbers have grown, which is the exact opposite of what we've needed," Libra said. "We must all cast aside their temptations, and seek out what is truly right. Losing any more of our ranks to Othinus could very well cost us this mission."
