Blood Dragon

She nods a bit as she looks to him then around the room. "Why do they still protect when so many do not?" She asks curiously to him.

Scipio sits down on a bed and stretches his arms into the air.

"They have spines. Bounty-villes as we call them would sell their children to the guard for a silver piece." He answers, gesturing for her to sit on the other bed and relax.

Blood nods carefully. Her eyes flicker a bit and she moves to the bed. "Will never understand how you humans will betray one another. " She says.

With a grimace she nods a bit and let's control back to Dagger. The female winces and shakes her head. "That damn dragon is going to get new killed one day." She grumbled.

Scipio smirks, and looks at the bloodstained scarf she still kept around her waist.

"At least she got you to safety." He says, and lays down on the bed. The beds were firm, but better than pine needles. Closing his eyes he rests for a bit in silence.

Dagger grimaces as she moves to lay down. "Actually...I wouldn't need safety if it wasn't for her...." she grumbles then sighs and shakes her head before starting to fall asleep a little.

Scipio chuckles, and sits back up.

"Can I see the wound? The pressure from the scarf might not be needed anymore." He asks.

Dagger blinks a little and looks over to him. Hesitating for a moment then she moves to sit it. "Okay..." she winces slightly. With a quiet sigh, she closes her eyes. So tired, so much pain.

Scipio stands up, and sits beside Dagger. Carefully, he unwraps the scarf from her wound.

The wound looked bad, but it was not bleeding anymore at least.

"Just be careful with it, and get some rest." He says, handing her the scarf if she wanted to use it again.

She flinches as he pulled the scarf from the wound. It hurt worse than any she had ever felt before.

She held the scarf gently and nods at his words. "Thank you. " She mutters as she lays back down, careful to keep off that side.

Before returning to his bed, he gently patted Dagger on her shoulder.

"It is nothing."

He switches back to his bed, and tries to fall asleep.

She nods a little at his words. It wasn't nothing though, not to her. Not in this world were so few care.

It took her a long while to fall asleep but when she did ,she sleep deeply.

Several hours later she starts to stir. She had developed a slight fever from the wound and trembled in pain before trying to sit up.

Scipio began to stir shortly after Dagger. His eyes were half closed and he struggled to keep awake.

"How is the wound, Dagger?" He asks as he gets to his feet.

She looks to him and shakes her head a bit. "I need to clean it....infection has set in. Demon blades are the worst to a dragon. " She says.

Scipio nods, processing most of what she says.

He straps his sword to his side and reaches his hand to her, offering to help her out of bed.

"You would like to bathe in a hot spring, wouldn't you? It would help your wound a great deal. If you are fine with it, of course." He says noticing how stiffly she moves.

She hesitates a little then nods as she accepts his help. Once standing up she walks with him. "A hot spring would do wonders for it."

Scipio walks to the door and unlocks it with a key that was left in the room. Walking through the inn, he kept a wary eye on every face.

"The hot springs are a bit into the woods from the village. Don't worry though, the area is tamed and no bandits will be roaming." He says as he walks out the front door. His hand remains gripping his sword handle, he did not fully trust anyone in light of the recent events.

"You should stay close to me, straying could cost you your safety. You don't have a reputation here." He says as he waits for her to step outside as well. He didn't care about his volume, he was like an old friend to most of the residents. He also knew he would have some old scores that might appear to be settled if he didn't pad-foot, however.

Following him through the inn, she was alert and wary but didn't let it show.

She nods at his words. "I understand. " She grimaces. She had tied the scarf back around before leaving the room to hide the injury as much as possible from anyone looking.

Her eyes flicker slightly but she was still relaxed and followed after him. His body language told her everything and so she kept alert. The fever making it difficult.

Scipio walked at a casual pace through the town, passing shops and stores.

After a few minutes, they find themselves facing the woods. Faint chirping of birds filled the air.

Scipio began to follow a thin dirt path through the woods, gesturing for Dagger to keep close.

Dagger did as instructed and stayed at his side. Her mind alert as she listened to the sounds of the birds. Their songs relaxing her a little.

The woods were home to her in a way. She enjoyed being away from others and being free. It was strange how greatly the world had changed.

They walked along the vague dirt path until they came to a crude rock wall. Walking around the boulders revealed a steaming hot spring with a few leaves floating on the top of it.

"Here you go, this should make you feel much better. Take as long as you please." He says as he leans against the wall. His hand hovers the handle of his blade, he wasn't about to let his guard down near a village. The villages are even more dangerous than the woods at times... how ironic, he thought to himself with a humorous smirk.
