Nathan turned his attention from Quill's storytelling when he noticed Elliot's gaze. He raised a brow at the boy, not sure if to turn away or to wave him over.

Burnham nodded after getting a new command from Saru. She watched the guests for a moment, assessing them. When she felt content at their actions, she moved to leave. "I will report back soon," she said.
Meanwhile, Elliot's brow furrowed. He didn't understand Emily's confusion one bit. "As in, free from this ship and all of the people contained within," he said. His lips puckered in annoyance, for he felt almost offended that Emily did not immediately grasp what he meant. "Free to be who I want and free to do what I want. That is the only thing that truly matters above all others."
He had not been around people for quite some time and did not quite know how to talk to people. He really only knew people from the books he read, but Elliot had soon realized how foolish his books could be. At the very least, he understood the concept of appeasing others or placating them, but never really knew what one was supposed to properly manage such actions. Flaunting his power had gotten him by in Rapture, but what was he to do here aboard this accursed ship?
"This reality is a dark and confusing one. If I am under someone's boot, I can not make sense of it. As I understand it, all individuals wish to make their mark on the world? If that is the case, I don't know why the others are not more desperate to be free of all this themselves." Elliot let out a long sigh when he finished talking. He found himself eyeing both Star-Lord and Nathan. The bigger man had thanked him for helping, but Elliot had never thought of his actions as helping the man. He still didn't. The man was foolish, after all.
Yet, still, Elliot had more to learn about people.

"Let me tell you a little about your inheritance; the amulet contains a stone that can grant someone power to rule the land of Alledia"
"Alledia?"
"It is where you are now, an alternate version of our planet. Earth. In time, you will know the land and its people. You will see how beautiful it is."
"But what does this have to do with helping us?"
"That will become evident when you realize the extent of the stone's abilities."
"If you can master it, you will not only save your mother's life, but you will gain a great and glorious power beyond anything you ever imagined."
"It is something I failed to attain during my lifetime, but you... You can achieve it."
"But I'm not interested in power. I just want to get my mom back and go home."
"But what if I told you this power would allow you to turn back time? To make things go back the way they once were?"
"There must have been a time in your life when you were happier. It's difficult for me to imagine that you were always such a serious and determined young lady."
"You can have what you were looking for... And all you have to do is listen to the stone. It will help you attain the power to shape your world."
"It will give you everything you desire and much more. I only wish I could be there to share it with you."
"Emily. When I am gone you will be left with a choice. You may choose to accept the stone's power or turn it away. Just remember that either choice comes with great consequences, and sacrifice."
"But why me?"
"Because I know you won't let me down."
...
It was when Elliot elaborated, that Emily started to truly understand his intentions; it wasn't just about freedom... It was power. A motive she was all too familiar with... After all, it was what her great grandfather, Silas, had tried to tempt her with, and later... So did the stone.
In the end... Despite her Grandfather's last words, she had fought the stone and its influence when it was tipping towards a direction she wasn't uncomfortable... Sacrificing what could have been boundless power for... ... What exactly?
It was then that the realization hit her, and she had an answer for Elliot, in a way, at least to try and clear his confusion, about why more people weren't desperate to be free of the shackles of life... Why they sought to be the strongest... Someone above everyone, with nothing holding them down.
"Because we aren't alone." She said quietly, though she seemed to pause for a moment, to collect herself before she continued any further.
"There was a time I desperately wished I could be free of all the troubles in my life... And I was told my stone was the key. That all I had to do was listen to it." She added, then she frowned a little.
"But... I have come to realize that as powerfull as my stone is. I can be just as strong if I fight together, with my friends..." She finished, though, she seemed to trail off a bit at the end.
While the passion behind her words was very real, something just didn't sit right about what she said... Like she was somehow lying to herself a little as she was saying this.
Was there something she wasn't remembering?
While everyone had been talking and having a grand ‘ole time, Grif had taken it upon himself to create about two whole packs of alcoholic beverages to accompany his snacks, the soldier not wasting any time in chugging them.
Needless to say, he got hammered pretty fast.
“I’ll tell you what I fuckin’ need! Some music!!!!” Grif exclaimed as he held the bottle in one hand and stumbled on over to the group at large.
“Grif, what the hell do you think you’re doin’?” Sarge asked as he watched Grif stumble about.
“I’ll tell ya what I think I’m (hic) doin’, Sarge! I’m having a fun time over here with my best friends Star-Prince and Nater Tots! Isn’t that right, guys?” Grif asked as he wrapped his arms around both Star-Lord and Nathan before using the arm that’s was around Nathan to bring his bottle to his lips, which happened to be partially exposed thanks to a small hole under his helmet that was used for consuming food.
Or in this case, beer.
“You’re such a buzzkill, pink haired lady! You should really (hic) try and loosen up a bit! And that Elliot kid should too! In fact..” Grif then proceeded to stumble on over to the synthesizer and produced enough beer for everyone in the group. He then proceeded to wrap them all up in his arms and drunkenly stumble over to the group, dropping a few bottles along the way.
“Free beer for everyone!” Grif exclaimed as he cracked open another bottle, completely disregarding the one he had just opened.

"Someone had too much Visco," Starscream said as he picks the bottles of beer that were falling before they could shatter on the ground, keeping them.
"This 'beer' does not interest me, not for consumption, anyways."
Starscream shakes his head.
"You've loosened up a bit too much, Grif. Go sleep on the sofas."

Chapter Two
"Into Darkness"
"Now!" Burnham yelled, slamming her hand down on the emergency door button and putting a barrier between the group and the creatures. They began to thump and scratch against the door. They would soon break through, if not for the next step in the process.
On Burnham's signal, the bridge crew opened up the hangar bay doors to the open space beyond. The rapid depressurization of the hangar bay rapidly pulled the creatures and everything in the hangar out into space, though no one behind the door could see this. Judging by the look on Burnham's face, however, the plan went off without a hitch.
"Now we just have to deal with the remaining creatures," Burnham said after a heavy sigh.
"It's all right!" Stamets said over the comms. "I have a plan!"
***
Stamets had relayed his plan to both Burnham and Saru. As long as Stamets was confident in what he was doing, they had no choice but to believe this was our best option.
"Alright, everyone. Black alert. Prepare yourselves, and let's all hope for the best," Saru said plainly for the immediate crew to hear, as well as those all across the Discovery via comm link, settling in the captain's chair in the center of the bridge.
"Ready when you are, Mister Stamets."
With the creature out of the chamber in dead, Stamets stepped inside and hooked himself up to the device inside. "This is the spore drive I was talking about," he explained, his voice echoing throughout the engineering room. Tilly and the other officers worked away consoles, readying the ship to make their jump. The chamber began to fill with what looked like small blue lights and Stamets smiled.
"You're going to love this," he said to Emily and the others, before closing his eyes.
In just a few seconds, everything turned blue.
***
It had only taken a moment, but it soon was as if nothing happened at all. Except, of course, for the fact that all of the creatures had disappeared.
In engineering, Stamets stepped out of the chamber, wiping sweat from his brow. "I think it worked," he said, slowly moving toward his console. Once he saw that Emily and the others were still there, he sighed. "Good news, you weren't left behind. Bad news, reversing the coordinates of the last jump didn't send you home."
He moved to his console, frowning. "Stamets to the bridge, where are we?"
***
"Determining that now, Mister Stamets," Saru responded as the crew was at work to identify anything quantum signatures before one of the helmsmen turned toward the Acting Captain.
"Sir! We've detected a Constitution-class starship in the distance. Getting a reading on it now just to be certain," he said, beginning to scan the new ship as it began to come into sight for those on the Bridge. A tense silence followed as the ship began flying closer to the Discovery; after all, why wouldn't they? Starfleet ships were always aware whenever they were being scanned, and to be randomly scanned by another Starfleet ship would have been a strange maneuver indeed.
Eventually, the helmsman looked back at Saru, shaking his head solemnly. "It's... It's no good, sir. The quantum signatures don't match our ship's. Even though we're back in a dimension, it's not precisely ours."
Saru pursed his lips slightly, troubled by the news, but he knew that this was hardly any time to stop now. "Understood. For our next course of action, I think--" he began.
"Captain! The ship's beginning to hail us! Should we accept and communicate with them?"
Saru hesitated for a moment, before nodding. "Patch them in. Let's hope they aren't anything like the Terrans. Burnham, Stamets, be ready for anything."
In short, as for as you were all concerned, while you weren't home just yet, or even those native to the Discovery, it seemed like this was at least a step in the right direction, and with the strange creatures gone now, one could only hope that you could take this moment to at least breathe now.
"For now, bring our guests to the lounge."
***
It wasn't long before Burnham had gathered everyone to the recreational deck of the ship. While the Security Personnel were on clean-up and headcount duty, Burnham addressed the guests. "As a... courtesy for assisting us in saving the ambassador's life, we will allow you your weaponry back. However..." Burnham looked squarely at Vader. "Do watch this man for us. We believe we can trust most of you, so prove that to us by being each other's keeper."
"That's easily the least you can do," Elliot grumbled. "Do we have full access to your ship yet?"
Burnham shook her head. "No. You will have to stay here on this deck of the Discovery. Please understand that we need to know where you all are at any given point in time. Plus, we need to scour the ship to repair damages done by that dangerous species."
With that out of the way, Burnham walked off to the side to communicate with the bridge privately.

"Whew... Thank goodness all of this is over... I was feeling exhausted from fighting that much in so little time..." Green Heart exclaimed as she engulfed herself in a light once more before changing back to Vert. Taking a look around the recreational area, she found that there was a tea creation spot which brought excitement to Vert. After all, what's better than having tea while playing a game? And tea is always nice to have. Pouring some for herself, she took a seat at one of the tables and happily began sipping.

“Tea? Whatre you doin’ drinkin’ tea?” The drunked Grif asked as he stumbled over to Vert with another bottle, neary tripoing over his own feet as he did so.
“H-here babe. Have some’a (hic) this.” Grif said as he practically shoved the beer in Vert’s face.
"This is not the time to get drunk, Grif." Vert responded, pushing Grif's hand away from her face and took another sip of her tea. "Well, perhaps it might be, but in your case, getting drunk is the worst thing you could do. Where is Sarge?"
@Raptor Jesus
“I’m right here!” Sarge exclaimed from his position on the couch.
“C’moooooon... don’t be a square, ya big square.” Grif said with a chuckle as he kept persisting to get her to loosen up like him.
"(Perhaps I'd be wise to move to you Sarge, as it would appear that Grif here does not quite recognise the situation he's in.) Hmhm. Fine~ If you wish for me to lighten up, then how about I do something for you?~"
@Raptor Jesus
W-what’s that?” Grif asked with a light chuckle.

Vert got up out of her seat and walked up to Grif, and then in a moment's notice...
She gave him a light smooch on his visor, blushed a little, and then walked off, over to Sarge on the couch, taking a seat next to him.
"Forgive me for that little display there~"
@Raptor Jesus
“Heh heh... and Sarge said I couldn’t ever get a girlfriend with my (hic) attitude.” Grif mused as he took another large swig of beer.
“That’s because you can’t, numbnuts! I smell a trap! Or a rat! Or a... a rat in a trap!” Sarge said as he turned to face Vert. “What’s your game here, woman?”
Kirby sat next to Vert and made a very happy noise. He considered himself good at video games, even when his stubby arms made it appear impossible. However, he would give them a try.
